I know we're due for a paperdolling soon (which will be awesome) But I was wondering if npcs will be subject to that or what. So I made this. I saw all the guards around town, and thought it might be nice to see them differently from everyone else. Anyway, please tell me what you think, if you care, if you hate it, whatever. It's the product of 10 minutes work, so I won't be torn! :)
I know if it were to be useful it would need all the different side-views and animations, but I really wouldn't mind doing that.
Anyway, here he is:

*EDIT*
Lol, I couldn't help myself...it didn't take very long anyway. He's a bandit:

For the guards, you would need these new sprites from all directions, in all parts of their movement ;)
But: nice work!!

Yeah, I said that. Lol. But thanks!

Edit: Oh, does anyone have a sprite sheet of humans? If so, I could make the whole lot!

I wouldn't waste time making 'fully dressed up' people, since its defentally being done in a different way.

So just talk to martin, and maybe he'll get you to do a few things.

They are re-doing all types of char / monster graphics and animations as well, so the existing ones should be very outdated when the NBU comes.

Creating different fully clothed sprites is entirely useless work.
Paperdolling will do this. For players, for NPCs and for monsters. Just in a few more individual way then you could ever do it with fully clothed sprites.

If you want to help with graphics, you should ask martin and not just create something that turns out to be unfitting in every way. Thats just a waste of time.

Lol, thanks Alexander, do appreciate that. As I said, I don't know what the paperdolling entails. I've written to martin, and am waiting for a reply...but as for a waste of time...not really, I enjoyed doing these and they took about 10 minutes each.
I'm guessing (very possibly wrongly) that the paperdolling consists of choosing a head, a body and some legs, or the body and legs being dependent on what you are wearing. If so, then I'm putting it out there that I am actually capable of making graphics, If martin (or whoever) wants or needs it.

As you can probably tell, from me putting forward suggestions and music, and sprites and whatever else, I really want to help contribute to this game. I love it so much. I'm just hoping martin might come along, and give me a little push in the right direction.

TBH changing hues on a couple off static images by the use of photoshop isn't that impressive, kudos on the hair-doo for the other guy, but it isn't overly impressive, nor acts as a preview of any potential work. I could do exactly what you did.

I look forward to seeing more evidence that you can 'make' graphics. Cheers.

You have to admit he's right, though.

Creating paperdollable characters isn't done in photoshop essentially, it's done in a 3D software.. it just won't work out if you can't do 3D.

At least I think so.

Oh well.

I wasn't being mean, or neglecting his effort to help. It's cool beans and all.

I'm just warning him that he'll need some 3D knowledge to be able to do that stuff.

(I'm taking 3D classes now and I can tell you it's not easy beans.)

Hey.. maybe you could make a female lizard? Its sometimes annoying when you cant tell and everyone assumes your girl char is male.

How about a female hobbit??? It is soooo confusing being surrounded by halfers you don't know and trying to figure out what gender each of them has ^^

Do not worry, for thou art not alone in the world.
There are others alike you.
:P

...And even more who also like said things... and who like so much more the ones who carry those.

Heed my words : What use is all freedom for a man, if he cannot carry on his arms that special one goddess for whom his very soul is craving to resonate with ?

And what fool is a man who claims to have found ones destiny, whereas this world holds even more teachings and mysteries for us which yet are to be learned ?

We still have a long way to go, although it may not be too far anymore.
The spear tip in your heart may only be the key that is able to wake you up.

Come in from the cold
i'll owe you my heart
be my shelter
be my refuge for the night

Love of my life !
Pour your light
on the faith i can feel
make it real
