Weaponry

I am sure that most dwarves will agree with me, whenI saythat we need another axe.
With all other kinds of weapons there are a powerful one handed version except for axes. Only one of them is one handed actually, and incidently also pathetically weak. All the others, Double, long and war Axe are two handed, so it's damn near impossible to protect yerself.
I think a nice double headed battle axe would be a very welcome to the game.
I love great big axes, but I just die too fast if I wield them...

I agree with Mishrack, a new single handed axe (designed for combat) should be implimented, and perhaps a single handed hammer too.

When nobody say something it means too, that nobody criticize it. *hihi*

But it is realy important to have another axt? Ok right, one handed axt it give only one, but i think it exist so much weapons for one hand, i know its not the same for a dwarf.

I don't know... it just seems odd to me that a dwarfwould wielda firesword... No dwarf with self respect would use a sword...
and Iwould like to be able to wield two massiveaxes and play beserkerfora wee bit :D

Well, if not many people are going to post about their ideas, I might as well.
I would like to see a sabre sword (silver with a slight curve to it), a dirk (i think thats what its called) longer than a dagger, but shorter than a sword (feel free to correct me if i am wrong) and a quiver to put arrows and bolts in.
The quiver would work like this, it is counted as just one object, yet it can hold up to say 250 arrows, this means when you want to empty your hand you only have to move the quiver and not all 250 arrows, which saves time messing about with the number thing, this will be handy whilst attacking monsters etc.

In this case, it's an idea that has already been suggsted many times in the past by other dwarves. But I guess a stronger one handed axe just isn't important enough to be done at this time.

If a one handed axe were to be made, it could look kinda like the on in the dwarf graphic

Sabre Sword! Sabre Sword! Sabre Sword! I want a Sabre Sword! Like the sword orc ladies have! Sabre Sword! Sabre Sword! Sabre Sword!

THere are already so many swords...and only one of them is ever used...
Whereasaxes... :D

There are lots of swords, but the only reason people use only one of them is because it happens to look better than the others, and people say its the 'best'. But I want a Sabre Sword like the Orc lady, I will pay 3 ingots for one (it has to be as good as the firesword though)!!

I must agree with you all !

I'm all for a new axe, but double headed and one handed? i think if it had 2 sides to it, it would be either too heavy to wield or very light and flimsy which wouldnt cause much damage.

you could have a Dwarven Axe. A axe with a short handle, two huge blades sticking out the ends. Kinda like if you took the wrapping off of a double axe and cut the handle off a tad. And a hamm.e well thas kinda made for being with two hands. I cant imagine a person swinging a hammer that even looks powerful while holding a shield. The olny way I can see one is a guy swinging this huge hammer with spikes and such. Maby if they have a meat tenderizer, that could work. Make the demons tender before you make boots from there insides.

well, we dwarves are quite a bit stronger than you other people, so I doubt swinging a great one handed axe will be much of a problem for us

might not be but playing bopit with a demon while holding a shield will be. which reminds me, souldnt you make flys hard to hit with hammers? like skellys are hard to hit with arrows or any other distance weapons?

by Caranthir the great
The flies are not really good 'monsters' in my opinion, (no offense to any creators) but as Iqloo pointed out, how in earth are you supposed to hit one?
Arrows? Mace? Dagger? I doubt, Against them the shields should perhaps be the best weapon.

how about changing the subject a little bit?

what would have to happen that there's not only ONE sword people use, but many different? i think it's boring this way.

If you were to make different coloured swords, I am sure not everyone would use the same colour, just like with capes. ;)

You mean like light sabre's, hehe, different colours would be good though, I would like the fire sword to be silver, like all swords should be unless it were to have a red glow.

argh... what is everyone's obsession with those red overgrown knives??

I'd go for an axe everyday, but If i had to limit myself to a sword, I'd at least take one with a healthy colour.

enchanted weapons

I would prefer more runes... runes that are not used for combat, but enchanting a weapon - elves used to have those blades that would glow blue when orcs are around...

with each time you fail to enchant the weapon, the weapon would be cursed and you could not really use it...

maybe next time i will go more into detail :P

Yes, thats a good idea, it give to less runes / spells for "friendly effects".
The most spells can be only use for attacking somebody.

I hope in the future it give a cast to fight a fire, so we can do something against all the Spellsfires in the town.

First of all, for protection the library.

Morgaine speaks...

:) we already have the rune of inversion "TAH" - why not be able to cast tah ra sij - tah hept sij - tah yeg jus to undo fires :D and also tah yeg kel to free somebody from paralyze? maybe some other offensive, deathbringing and ultimate spell that could only be casted when TAH MES PEN are mastered?

this would bring me to another idea...
the usage of the rune for Protection to create force shields around a person - less magical damage can be done. sav ra - sav hept - sav yeg and sav cun could be such spells. maybe there could also be some greater protection with sav ra qwan - sav hept qwan etc.

back to weaponry :D

the rune of Iron - Mav
the rune of Wood - Suz
the rune of Gold - Kol
the rune of Cloth - Lun

or maybe just a rune of Materials - Tial?

so in combination when one wants to create an axe with an evil spirit within, one would cast Mav Pen Luk onto the axe... one could also try to enchant a chainmail with Mav Sav Qwan to be better protected etc.

depending on what has been casted on the weapon to enchant it, when failing, it would turn into a cursed weapon with very much the same effect as the weapon should have had but inversed (with a TAH added in front of the original spell) - or one could think up some effective curses that are radom?
now you never know if your enchantment was effective or not so.... you have to try out the weapon or actually the enchanted item.
now how to free from a cursed item?
if it is known what sort of curse it is why not cast the curse with a TAH onto the cursed person, so he or she has the opportunity to free himself from the item within 3 seconds.
maybe there should be scrolls of Identify to buy in the shop... one scroll at the cost of 2 silver, maybe more? and since those new books of runes were an investition in business they would cost around 50 silver.

huh - maybe i had written too much :P my appologies

I would love to be able to make a protective barrier around me and to be able to enchant items, and bless people.
Then i could get more money by blessing people. 8)

You want spells:

luk pen quan kel- the dark soul: summons a dark soul which damages body and spirit of the target
luk lev- the black wave: throws a wave of evil energy at the target
tah mes- dark cloud: creates a cloud which covers everything behind it
sij kel- throwing rocks
mes kel- lightray
lev kel- flight: allows the caster to fly (greater mobility for a short amound of time)
