Question about Paladins pertaining to Illarion

Ok most games that I have been in a paladin is like a white maged warrior who can fight and practice healing used often as an healing buffer in the other systems. Now I understand the Rp end of the game but to me this will also change the "norm" for a paladin based character so for the sake of miscommunication or argument later on What is the historic/common role of the paladin as it pertains to Illarion?

Its up to you. Paladin is your starting package.
If you want to RP a paladin, then fight evil creatures as undead, and even become a battlemage and learn healing. Its up to you.
The way how you play your paladin char defines how that char is a paladin.

No one will say if you choose paladin, you HAVE to get healing spells and fight undead. You can also stick around singing songs or writing poems.
Yay, democracy!

I guess it also depends on what god your char prays to. A Paladin for Sirani would not make too much sense. A Paladin of Malachin would I suppose... but well, Rekarafi is right, it is basically all up to you as long as you stick to the background. I guess it is not needed to say that f.e. an Albarian paladin makes pretty more sense than a Gynkheese one :D

Hehe, guess in the newbie section of the board you should explain it clearer.
As you started, you had no idea what an albarian paladin is, or a gynkheese one.

I am not sure for 100% myself :?

Okay what about a Paladin for Irmorom. Or is this too out of character for a dwarf

Well then you should do what I would have done in your situation: Go on, read the background to Albar, and Gynk, and all the deities, and then see yourself ;) I am too lazy to copy it in here for you right now, and really, it is soo simple to see if you once read about the gods and about the different cultures.

In the planned priest system, paladins will probably be implemented. A priest can give a follower of the same god temporarily the ability to do small spells, e.g. healing.

Note that "paladin" means only this person who is not a priest has special powers given by the gods. All the details including fitting into the background have to be worked out. Just a small preview for you ;)

An Irmorom Paladin for a dwarf sounds pretty logical!
