It would be a little bit helpfull, for me mostly i guess.and new players, if there was a compass in game. that would be alot easier for noob treasure hunters and just in general when asking for directions. I sugest puting the compass so that it is around the life, hunger and mana, i dont know if it is posible to have an arrow in the compass that shows the direction you are facing. well..whaddaya say?

Huh..seriously what the hell, a compass?
I'm not exactly sure if you know what a compass does, but it would have nothing to do with "where you are facing" and Illarions cardinal points are quite obvious, up is north, rightside is east, leftside is west and south is down.

... North is up, East is right, South is down, West is left; where is the problem?

*sighs* for me its not obvious..it was just a proposal...

Here's a tip.

Code: Select all

  N
W + E
  S
=

Code: Select all

  U
L + R
  D
Also if you press F9 or look at the illarion map on the homepage it's clearly in that direction. Or look at the minimap, where when you walk up it goes North.

i wont be able to remember that. having it ingame would be more helpfull..lets just see what the devs say.probably a big fat no. but at least i tried:P

Since most maps are made so that north is up, Illarion gives you the information you need in the mini-map ingame. Try it. Move up and the crosshairs moves north(up), same with the other directions.

You can't remember that North is up? Like in every map ever? Like your minimap shows you?

Maybe they should add a keyboard onto the screen to show you where the shift button is too, and what the right mouse button is.

Why add new graphics and code to cater to 1 person who can't realise that North is up?

I like it, just a small stable compass maybe at the top of the map.

This is a valid concern!

I often find it difficult to remember that North is up.

With this in mind I coded a sophisticated solution to help me remember.

You know what compass we need!

We need a new moral compass for some GMs!

Low blow. You're an asshole for mocking someone for their handling of a language.

If they have investment in such things, it is not my fault.

By then, one should be able to know what and where left, right, up and down and North, East, South and West is. Of course there is a minority who have a debility in that matter, but they should be able to help theirselves e.g. as Velask did using a note on the monitor.

Perhaps on a new map there could be a small compass, if it fits, like here on the top center.

That would be nice if it had E and W also.

I have added a note on the appropriate internal board to add such a compass to the map.

I'm not sure how I can stress the fact that Norwegians are not in general retarded, without making fun of my dear countryman here... So i'll leave it at this.

Seriøst... Det er jo akkurat som på et kart. Opp er nord, venstre er vest, høyre er øst og ned er syd. Hvis det hjelper, så spill med tilted map.

if you ever went for a treasure hunting, then the directons should be pretty clear.

ikke alle vet det, sånne som meg som glemmer slike ting med gjevne mellomrom./not everyone knows this, people like me that forget it often.

again just a proposal. a simple yay or nay from the devs was all i needed and it was given.
