With the starting equipment and skills...
The skills you start off with...are they the only ones you can get better at? Do they level up faster? Or do they maybe start off slightly higher? What's the go?

You can master everything, but your first skills are slightly above 0. There is no special effect. To be honest, your starting skills are almost useless. If you chose bard and train for maybe 20 minutes, then you can fight as good as a knight.

That does not mean, however, you should. If you play a bard, then most likely you should act like a bard. Not some one who fights demons with swords. Same with druids, and such. No one should do -everything-.

Of course, but no one cares.

Your character concept =/= the pack you choose at the start. You could choose the bard pack but not actually be a bard. Maybe your character beat the **** out of a bard and stole his stuff .
Your attributes play a role, however. e.g. Don't roleplay pulling a cart with one finger when you have 3 str.

this games is made in a way that almost forces you to multiclass...and some people do but i dont..why?'cause its tarded when you see a priest down in the graveyard crypt killing demon skeletons..OR a bard killing demon skeletons in the crypt for that matter...lower prices for items bought from NPC's have the NPC's sell stuff ya need...like a crossbow>,< and 4 copper a bolt arrow!?*facepalms* it is the powergamers that rule this game..those here just to have funsies roleplaying is gonna get bi...female dog slapped, aiiit?

I also find the starting skills useless.
Give them a higher level (10 or 20) at start, make them easyer to bring high or whatever.
Its just useless to get some skills on level 1 then on 0. It fills the skill list (annoying to see ONE blue skill in a bunch of greens/yellows)
and doesnt bring anything. The first level is in about 10-12 hits/times singing/tools crafted ect.
And the prices in town are really horrible. Mostly Sorgan. Okay, he dwarf and likes gold, but he takes one silver for the worst hat you can smith?
And Eliza pays 150 copper for this nice blue armor with the name i cant remember? Crappy. Thats why NPC merchants stinks somehow

The 'merchants are cheapos' thing is being worked on.
And I've never seen a real suit of Lor-Angur's before

Cool, thanks guys...I was worried about making someone to be a fighting mage, and I wanted to start off as a knight. I thought maybe they wouldn't be able to learn magic skills, but I wanted to roleplay the whole "knight finds a greater power inside themself...blah blah blah"
Thankyou!

Actually the starting ~stats~ are important if you can learn magic or not.

Attributes are the only things that will affect your "technical" limitations.
Otherwise roleplay whatever, but as Pellandria said, you will need certain stats to learn magic technically, and if you can't learn it technically you can't really roleplay it either.

You need a minimum of a total of 30 points in intesswill to learn magic. However, with that few points it's useless anyway.

Wait, what do you mean by that Alex? You need a total of 30 points in what? Sorry, can't really understand the post.
