When fishing, you can only fish one square next to you, which can get slightly antagonizing at times, I suppose. I think it might be a good idea to implement casting -- you can fish a few squares away from yourself, and how far you can cast could depend on your strength which you set when you created your character. Just a thought...eh. Nothing else to say, I guess.

It seems realistic I guess, but is it really necessary to spend time working on it now?

Speaking of changes I really like what happened to the library, it is easier to trap people with inappropriate names. I was even involved in an "immigration" search making sure the people's names were appropriate, it was interesting and if a person came through with a reasonable name we let them out into the world, with a warm welcoming of course.

aye,I've been away too long... what DID actualæly happen to the library? and the tavern?

ok here is the things that happened ( i wacthed them fight over how it should be lol , on both! ) i guess they thought it was time to do some remodleing and i wacthed the tavern get done by the two gms and the outher place. it was funny to watch! they keep moveing the same thing back and forth back and forth. about a hour of ermodleing the tavern they got done with the tavern. then the libary was made to trap people with dum and stuipd names. so they would not let them out of the place. and they will be doing some outher stuff to outher places soon. ( hopefulle the shop )

I was involved with the library remodeling, and it was not done to trap people with inappropriate names, that was just an added bonus <grin>.

It was done because when you first log in you are stuck in the library and can't even see yourself and is totally confusing.

In the new server the log in point was made outside because of this, but I think this may be a better solution, and perhaps it will be moved back into that new room.

well loki told me that he dosen't let people with names that relly arn't a rgp name out into illarion

When I"m around I don't either.

If they adhere to the name rules. Just tell them to make a new char and follow the name rules. That's the easiest tiem for someone to pick a legit name.

Here's what I do.

I DON'T actually tell them that I won't let them out becuase of their name.
Instead I just tell them to go READ the rules, because they obviously haven't.

And if the name is just completely far from an acceptable name (such as, not even capatalized, which you learn to do in what, grade 1?), it's pretty obvious that the chances of this person being any kind of a worthwhile roleplayer to keep around are extremely low, so I just let them get frustrated and leave the game, instead of releasing such a player into Illarion.

Dyluck, thats exactly what i do. I tell them to read the rules, understand the rules and create a new character for the game. I think, that it wouldnt be hard for this player to abandon the char with the bad name.

Ape (?), who are you !? i never met you before or even talk to you !
But i think your char is named "El Diablo", if i meet you when you first enterd Illarion i dont think that i would allow you to enter the game.
One other thing, i heard that you tried to do the "work" i am doing right now, telling new players about namerules.
I dont want to hear that again from my friends! I doubt that you are the kind of player who should tell newcommers about rules and game-behavior.
