From searching the internet for MMORPGs when Tibia became too unfriendly and when you couldn't roleplay there anymore. Stuck here cause the programmers back then still showed you how what was done and it was very interesting to see the things grow.

Vel found the link in the forum of the other mmorpg we play, the Star Wars Combine, and pointed me to it. After playing like, an hour on Noobia I phoned back and said that we urgently need to play this game because its awesome. So here we are

I was bored like hell back then and couldn't see my other games anymore.
So I searched via Google for a "free online rpg" and stumbled over Illarion. I created an account and gave it a try and got addicted right away.
I only play every now and then nowerdays, as I don't got that much time left. But I still love it.

Ich war damals tödlich gelangweilt und konnte all meine anderen Spiele schon nimmer sehen.
Also hab ich einfach nach nem "kostenlosen online rpg" gegoogelt und bin über Illarion gestolpert. Ich hab mir damals einfach nen Account gemacht und es ausprobiert und war sofort regelrecht süchtig danach.
Heut spiel ich nur noch ab und an (leider), weil ich einfach nimmer so viel Zeit hab. Aber ich liebe es nach wie vor.

My brother told me about Illarion for weeks and months untill I finally decided to give it a try.

I was in Brazil and I saw some kids playing some cool looking mmorpg in some internet café. I went home and googled "free online multiplayer game" to try and find it, but then I decided since I had a terrible computer and internet connection at the time I'd look at the screenshot thumbnails for the game that looked like it needed the least system requirements, and it was illarion. Well actually, no, there was another one, but that was for macs only.

It was there but the list was a lot smaller back then.

Then I fell in love with the game. Especially the music in the old client. Man I loved that client.

Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere hatte ich bei Googel "Online RPG" eingegeben gehabt und dann auf "Online RPG deutsch" erweitert.

Illarion war verlinkt auf irgend einer Free Game Seite (10/2007), keine Ahnung mehr wo das war. Der Klick wurde mir irgendwie zum Verhängnis.

Just from the picture there of the character who recommended it, there it looked a lot like De Hatterer's current avatar that posted the link, So it is just a guess that he posted that link. Who knows?! Not me!

Googled free online RPG about 9 maybe even 10 years ago (I'm showing my age now) having said that it was a totally different game back then. Almost unrecognisable to what it is now.

I was so young I didnt use the internet much, but some freinds of my big brother started playing it. (This was from a time when we only had a 56 kb/s line! Paid by the minute)

These freinds had found it on some random forum site.

Well actually I was playing Lineage at the time and when it was no longer free, I looked for a new game. I forgot where I saw Illarion, but I was sold on the description that said you could be anything you want, plus the minimal system requirements.

Found it on a game site, cant remember what it was.. I seen a google ad for Illa and joined it instead of whatever the other game was.

Google was my friend. But don't ask me, what I searched for eight years ago.

(Drathe, are you sure about 9 or 10 years ago? I think, the first real playable client was from 2000 and the first merchandised client from about February 2001.)

Nachdem es meinen beiden Jungs nach einigen Monaten zu viel wurde mit dem "Über die Schulter sehen" kam irgendwann mal "Spiel doch selber!"
...

Just typed "Free roleplaying game list" in Google and got to one site.. can't really remember which one but Illa was like 18th on the list.
