ok, something i've wondered for a while... what does library research do other then let you read more books?

It allows you to read books better.
As far as I know though, nothing.

Let's you read harder books.

Yes, it's silly that you can't read all the books whenever you want and you have to pg a useless skill, blah, blah, but oh well.

well... there's is something you need that skill for...

But I won't tell you since this belongs to the things one should try to find out IG.

Taking it out might be not such a good idea

ummm.... not sure how you would find out ig. i mean you can't ask. "hello, why do i need to be able to read...."

so i ask you to a) tell a little bit more about why it's there

or

b) tell how you could actually find out ig.

for the record. i find it highly annoying when people basically answer the boards with "nah nah nah. i know the answer but i won't tell you. nah nah nah, you have to find out ig even though it's next to impossible nah nah nah nah nah"

especially the newbie board with something like this.

it affects the effects of certain potions. I think that is enough to get a track to find out ig?

I am a druid.
And I know pretty well how the druid-system is working currently and I cannot tell you in anyway how this skill could effect potions.
So I don't belive this.

Rethink what Alon wrote and then i'm sure you'll know what he means, Merung. Though.. i still don't check the ds in some parts, but i guess that library research is indeed affecting the effect of 'certain' potions.

As Ashayen said, it has nothing to do with the MAKING of potions, but I have experienced, that it has an influence of HOW certain potions work. I really don't want to spoil this, since it is not that bad to rp and it's possible to find out ig.

Well, and I still say that I think this is wrong.
So could a Dev say at least "it does" or "it does not"?
This is the newbie section and I think clear answers are welcomed.

PS.
I guess I know what you mean, but if you mean, what I think you mean, then you are wrong. :P

Reading is only useful to gather information. You can find out the same way through experience. It is not neccasary.
