Really like this idea, and i searched this forum for such a proposal and found none.

There could be 2 different name colors. X color for characters that have been created on an account active for 0-4 days. And Y color for characters created on an account that have been active for ~2 weeks. Or simply do the (N) we used to have, but this time have it in game.

This would allow older players to target new players and be able to specifically interact with them showing them what kind of game this is. A player now may simply give a passing by player a quick meet and greet not knowing his person is getting their very first impression of the game. As opposed to a player seeing the newer player (as indicated by name color) and giving the new player an opportunity to really get to see how the game is.

The (N) would be much better, because it wouldn't interfere with weapons.

Hey, I had proposed this I think.

Together with DE/EN so you know whether that person is ignorning you because he's a **** or he's not understanding you

And what about the bilinguals?

Will someone please think of the children?

Let's keep this simple instead of some A/S/L thing. I don't want to know what the person speaks, and I'll be damned if anyone should know anything about me.

Alex has a point though, perhaps it would be possible to change the First letter of the name to say, violet? Or some other color that can be 1.) Seen during the winter and 2.) Is not confused easily with some other color already in use to communicate something.

Someone (101010110)

They'd get both ;)

I don't think putting an (N) would be too hard...

@above. i'm sorry man but lmao.

"Joe cut the red wire! it will deactivate the bomb!"
"Uhh..."
"Joe the RED wire!"
"Hey Charlie, there's something i have to tell you..."
"Not now, we only have 7 seconds left! Cut the wire!"
"I'm color blind"

as for the topic on hand. I think keeping it simple is good and for our color blind friends could we not just have

N and D and/or E

so it would either be

NE
ND
NED

i think this would make everyone happy and is quite simple.
(also amusing to see some people with "Ned" beside their names.

"Hey Ned!"
"I'm not Ned..."
"((but your name says you're Ned...))"

However for game reason let try reordering the letter so the E goes last...

NDE
