Like a unified ingame time?
Oh that would be so wonderful, brilliant and ... wait ...
... I knew I saw this before.

Perhaps it would be more readily utilised by the players if it had a more prominent and readily observable position on the homepage.
Maybe something that isn't static and actually counts without the need for page refreshes.
As fond as I am of the biannual chaos and confusion that Daylight Saving creates for everyone on Illarion. We could do we more resources to help us manage time internationally.

That makes no sense to me.
The daylight saving effects the IG time by 3 hours ingame. It is this way but does it really matter that bad? The IG also matters only on the current server time. So no matter were you are on the globe, the IG time is the same for everyone.
I don't get what else is needed.

Honestly, if somebody would say: "Oh, my beloved one, let us meet again on the 21st of Ronas at eight pm", I'd go like ... wtf, when?!
I can only recommend to use GMT and calculate your individual offset.

Whats so hard about using this?
http://illarion.org/community/us_timeconverter.php
I always wonder why people writte "sundays" or other real time without OOc remarks in guild and rpg posts, if people would actually use the ressources, that are given, we would have alot less confusion.

I think what I was trying to say earlier was:
Can't we just put a clock animation on the frontpage?

why not put the clock that's already IG, on the homepage? (and maybe a real time, GST clock as well underneath) (link to converter under this)

The idea of a clock is not a bad one.
I live in the philippines and i have
NO clue how my time compares to
any others here really
(and the convertor doent help me either)
but
I just rp than I am living in m,y own time
and miss all the major events.

How about putting a clock counter ig that counts game time? Or would we all have to set ourselves to GMT to manage this? I know I've been confused about the precise moment of daybreak during duplicating mummy invasions in the past ... not really a convenient time to minimize the client and start fiddling with the website.

That has been my plan for a loooonng time!
I think I would have an easier time even at conversion by using links if not for the + or - 's added. If everyone used some kind of standard time whether a set "Illarion" or just strict GMT, it would be much easier.
I believe though this may help some when implemented:

i was always wondering, why the most events are not placed with a gmt time. the rest of the world know his gmt zone. it would be much easier. and its not really hard work, for everyone to look in wich time zone he lives. and everybody else can count then easily.

*cough* everyone except americans are able to use gmt, they use their own definition of time *cough cough*, I still wonder how people post it ~wrong~, even after they have been shown the link, the time in illa is universal, anyone who uses the time translator is able to find the time ig.

I think this could be used as nice solution:
18. Malas 28 - 05:42
How ever I need to find a place where to place that link to the new timeconverter... it some way fits nowhere.

That would be very nice! I am assuming it is just for show as yet since the "local time" was off...or may be misinterpreting it. As far as a link possibly under bookmarks on the front page if the link shortened for possibly "time" or something similar?
Uh.. never mind.. that looks good!
