Earlier today a halfling by the name of Vishigan attempted to assassinate me with poison after this he decided to argue with me about the natures of powergaming, i told him i had mastered parrying and slashing weapons and that i was quite good at magic resistance, as he said he could easily beat me as he is a mage, he argued for quite some time and eventually said i was powergaming and he left at that and told me he was going to get everyone on the forum against me by saying i was, i have been playing with Leiand for 3 weeks now, Tienos for just over a year... With Leinad it was easy to amster parry, i just fought demons and rotworms then moved onto spiders, yet he did not want to hear that and thus insisted on my powergaming by getting someone to hit me and vice versa... I just wanted to tell you this as he will probably start to flame me on the boards pretty soon and this will save alot of time...

It sounds like you are asking what happend today was powergaming.
You talk more about me than the question therefore it dosnt make sense...

what exactaly IS your question?

there is only one information missing:
where is ur magic resistance and how got it there.

i think he told me that it was to the s in resistance

and i think the only way to get resistance is by having spells cast on you...

I would tend to agree with Muck, the question is, how did you get your magic resistance so high?

Maybe you both should give more weight to perform roleplay? I don´t know you iG but what you wrote here doesn´t sound like you play your character...

Did I get it right? You play a halfling? Maybe you better read the description of the halfling folk again at Moonsilvers Realm. And even if you are not playing a halfling, remember that good old Tina Turner song called "We don`t need no other hero" because there are already to much heroes on Illarion. Be a real hero and play a stupid cabbage farmer, that´s one of the greatest quests: to survive as a cabbage farmer only.

My magic resistance is to the g in magic..., an elf mage tried to kill me one day and i did die eventually, but he kept paralysing me and casting ice bolt on me, after that it was around the g, then a few more people came to get me as friends of the elf...

Oh and its Vishigan whos a halfling, im a dwarf, and i am a master blacksmith as goes with dwarfing...

with all these information i won't say it was powergaming.
but the discussion about the skills is no roleplay.
but i don't know ur character, and can't say anything about, that u go fighting against demon, spider ...

it doesent matter does it? I mean if the hobbit is killing spiders, thats odd in the realm, and a hobbit threatening with OOC is against the rules, so your BOTH in the wrong.

Virtually all people can not get magic resistance that high in that short of time unless they powergame... mine was not as high as that, at any time.

Mannelig and Chyan Guo...that's what I have to say. Leinad, you even start by misspelling Vin's name 3 times. Both of you are just trying to get each other in trouble. This topic will probably never be solved...most are not... in my honest opinion. The very fact that the two of you are arguing over whether or not he was powergaming just proves that you are both out to get the other in trouble for something or another, at any cost. I highly doubt that the GM's will really bother to check the logs...especially if you two keep this Mannelig VS. Messenger episode up much longer.

As for making a poll out of this...
How ridiculous. And I do not say that to be mean, but rather to state the truth. It is simple enough to explain your situation and say, "Is this powergaming?" Your argument in which we are supposed to say "aye" or "nay" to is not even on the straight track of thinking. You begin to talk about how you mastered parry and whatever the heck else in 3 weeks. I thought, "Ok, makes sense, I can answer to that." However, then you go and talk about what happened that day and how Vin was acting and how he tried to assassinate you. And THEN you go to talk about how you have been playing with Leinad for 3 weeks and Tienos for over a year. After reading all of it, I decided it would be pointless to even bother casting my vote as it would have no effect since the boards arent exactly a democracy. The question makes no sense and the requested answer is what makes even less sense.

Both of you should be ashamed for trying to get the other in trouble for something or another. I highly doubt that even 50% of each of your information is even true, but rather a twisted form of vague statements each of you previously made.

@CF: Dont bother trying to tell us both what we are doing wrong, its just an argument, don't get yourself involved it has nothing to do with you, if you want to comment just say your opinion on the matter, not your opinion on the people

RP is always more important then skills, but who says halfling can't fight? Just cause I'm short doesn't mean I can't fight. And if you want to get you MR up just make a bunch of mages really made at you and run. Thats what I did. Silly old ganondalf couldn't hurt a fly with his magic.

In my opinion there are far too many "I-have-all-fighting-skills-and-MR-maxed, two-handed sword and full-body armor" -halflings running around.

Halflings should be the most peaceful creatures of illarion, just because Mr. Baggins could take the one ring to the mount doom doesn't mean that he should run around with two-handed sword.

And if you want to get you MR up just make a bunch of mages really made at you and run. Thats what I did.

Cain freemont, this is not the same as the other two because if you look at my other topic you will see that i mentioned no names, just class's, therefore i would have got no-one in trouble. I just wanted to know if it was powergaming or not.

I crated this for a discussion, that sdiscussion has reached its climax and the result is staisfied, do not bother trying to bring it back up, it all happened about a week ago, its gone now, let it rest, me and Vin are good friends now.

The discussion is no longer only about you or vindigan. It is now a discussion about what is powergaming and roleplay. You do not need to engage in this discussion if you don't want to.
