Who can get buildings
---------------------
We have no map editor yet, so the installation of buildings is a hugge work for us. Therefore only specific groups can have buildings:
- No individuals
- groups of 4 or more persons (not 4 characters from one person)
- guilds, no matter how many members, if they have a homepage (i.e. you don't tell us you are a guild just to get a house)
Restrictions
------------
- your walls will not surround any important places like cave entrances or monster spawns
- we will not install monster spawns in the building
- the doors will not be lockable yet
- only one story above ground level for now (plus roof)
- you can't walk on the tiles, where the walls rest on, but you can install items like paintings or ovens there
Prices for buildings

These prices seem rather expensive, but we don't want everyone to own a house. The houses should be a goal after long work, not something you get after a few hours playing.
The prices can change anytime. You can upgrade your house later. When no owner of the house is online for a month or more, we will raze the house, when we need the place.
The payment is in advance. We can always reject the construction of a builing (you get your money back)
To buy contact us with your wishes at
gods@illarion.de . Send the list of persons (character names), that wish to build that building, the place to build and a character name + email from someone that we can contact with questions.
The house will be installed in the next version.

I noticed the talks in the game:
"GM can build for free, why do they take money for building?"
The money is not for the GM (in fact the money will be deleted after you pay it). This game should show some kind of "real fantasy" world. So you have to pay for the things you buy. Players gather money from selling items they crafted and hunting monsters. What can you do with this gold? Right now you can buy different stuff for it, including houses. It is a possibility for us to make sure no one gets too rich

But you'll get your own spot in the game! A spot you can call home, meet your friends. You can even donate a public building. People will be thankful and talk about you, when they sit at the bar, you bought for them to have happy evenings full of stories and drinks.

The drap door has to be installed in the first floor to get down. I can't remember that I said no basements. There are prices for walls ans floors in the basement (the threee prices are always for stuff in the groundlevel, basement, upper floors).

I've reduced the price for roof tiles to 200 gold (above price list already editet, was 400 before).
To give an example of a house, I have created one in a graphic program. It is a 5*4 tiles house (i.e. 3*2 tiles to walk, rest can store furniture like bookcases, ovens...)
The picture does not include a roof, and the walls are cut off, to let you see inside. The price for the house includes full walls+roofs, and a door.
The price is 13200 gold
20 parquett tiles: 20*250 = 5000 gold
9 normal walls: 9*250=2250 gold
4 edges:4*400=1600 gold
1 door: 1*350 = 350 gold
20 roof tiles: 20*200 = 4000 gold
The price for this style of house in the size a*b tiles is:
a*b*450+500*(a+b)-300
example:
5*5 house: 15950 (3*3 tiles walking room)
6*5 house: 18700 (4*3 tiles walking room)
6*6 house: 21900 (4*4 tiles walking room)
For other calculations see the price list.

What you said in your thread consists of stuff, that is not for sale (like monster spawns), stuff, that is very expensive (3 story 25*25 house), payment, that is much below the prices I posted (5K gold), no email adress, no list of persons, that take part, no place, where to put it.......

do not get me wrong, but:
for me, illarion is massive inside the state of development. a lot of things, mainly concerning different values and numbers (balance of skills, balance of monsterstrength, money, loot, ...) isn't really tested out.
the chars do not have the ablities they should have in future, the loot isn't the one it should be, monsters are too strong or too weak, prices are too low or to high (ok, i didn't see a too high price so far

) etc.
buying a house now means one of two things:
* getting a house VERY cheap compared to what they will cost in future
* the houses (and eventually the skills of the chars) will be reseted
(* mixture of both

)
i wouldn't want to buy a house now, but... that was just a thought of mine.

Yupp, that's the same thing with the characters. I think they have to be deleted sooner or later, because of the skills and gold they got in the test phase of the game. And than the big whinig will start, all the little addicted gaming junkies who "have invested so much time in their char". LOL
But they enjoyed playing, didn't they? So what is lost? Is a hour of fun and pleasure nothing? And if they didn't enjoy it, they are twice as stupied.
Oh, I guess I'm a little bit philosophical today.

i totally agree. besides, skills raise much too fast now (that's good for testing, but bad for char-evolution

)

"I want the biggest house I can get"...
Does that mean, the shape doesn't matter? a 30 tiles wall without volume in it?
Please, everyone who wants a house, be more specific without me asking all these nasty questions. In this thread is a list of prices and information I need. read through it and tell me.

This is a translation of the above english text - no new information.
Wer kann Gebäude bekommen?
--------------------------

So denn,
Feuerklinge

@Brendan: You can buy gem grinders for 1000 gold.

Greetings......

I'd like an estimate for a building I'd like to build for my guild. A 10x10 square building with walls a door. Tiled with parquet. With roof. Plus a gem grinder and a round table with 2 chairs. I'd also like 2 lions heads around the door.

first of all, you need to find a place, where this large building fits in. Trees can be harvested before building.
The price:
25,000 - 100 parquett tiles
20,000 - 100 roof tiles
00,350 - door
01,600 - 4 edges
07,750 - 31 walls
01,000 - gem grinder
00,300 - round table
00,300 - 2 chairs
00,600 - round table
---------
56,900 gold pieces = 227 silver ingots, 150 gold pieces

I'll want a building with my friends. We're currently three players, but I'll find another one soon enough. Also, quick question. In RL, there's usually something in Eng. we call "wholesale" which is basically buy in large amount. For my temple, with the image done on our homepage which the link I believe is in my signature, I have over 100 marquet tiles, and 12 book sholves. In that case, is it possible for me to get a cheaper price?

Our group members now contains 4 people! I've just recruited Andrew Horton. Now the group members are Me(Peace Keeper), Gurdman, Jhereg, and Andrew Horton. The visual layout can be found on our website, and just a little FYI, the water part I don't want roof for, that's why there's only 374 roof.
We currently have 293 + what ever Jhereg is going to give gurdman after he get back from Afghanstan. We'll have just a little under 350 silvers. That means we may have to wait til the build after. I'll see how much silver I can squeeze in. Thanks for your time Bror.
PS: we'd be expceting a small price increment since the price of depot, loom, and NPC's not mentioned.
