Illarion.org

This is meant to be a friendly competition to determine who is the best musician among us. The prize will be a full year of bragging rights and a small purse of coins. All are welcome to participate.

The performance must be a combination of music and poetry. It may be played by one performer or a group of performers. The judging will be based on the quality of the music and lyrics as well as the performance of them.

The exact date and time of the competition will be posted in the near future, so start practicing!

Schlacht der Barden


Es ist findet ein Wettbewerb statt, um den besten Sänger und Dichter zu ermitteln. Jeder ist willkommen mitzumachen.
Als Preis gibt es den Titel "Bester Sänger/Dichter Gobaiths", der ein volles Jahr lang getragen werden darf und einen kleinen Geldpreis.


Die Aufführung sollte eine Kombination aus Musik und Dichtung sein. Die Aufführung kann durch einen Darsteller oder eine Gruppe dargebracht werden. Bewertet wird die Güte der Musik und der Dichtkunst, ebenso auch die Ausführung des Auftritts.

Der genaue Zeitpunkt des Wettbewerbs wird in Kürze bekannt gegeben, also beginnt mit den Proben!

Seufzend geht sie weiter.

Rhandarja liest den Aushang, dann kramt sie schnell einen Kohlestift und einen Zettel hervor, schreibt etwas darauf und pinnt ihn dann darunter:

"Ich, Rhandarja Opalin, werde auch teilnehmen."

Will there be wine?

There is good chance I will show to this. For those of you that remember me, my name is Airin Merrymount. I play the lute and sing improvisations, Meaning I will sing about that which I observe.

The competition time has been set for (( saturday 11 October at 7PM GMT/3PM US eastern time )).

The old language competition will be held first, followed by the new language. Bards speaking both languages may participate in either or both events as it pleases them.

If you are not competing, come sit in the audience to support your friends and the arts.

Zuerst wird der Wettbewerb in der Alten Sprache durchgeführt, danach in der Neuen Sprache. Barden, die beider Sprachen mächtig sind, können an einem oder auch an beiden Veranstaltungen teilnehmen.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Battle of the Bards competition must be postponed two dwarven weeks. The new date will be (( October 25th, same time )). I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but it currently can't be helped. The good news is that everyone has a bit more time to practice.

As the day of the competition draws nearer, I wanted to let everyone that will be particpating know to expect Rosendil as the old language judge. I also want to acknowledge and thank him for his support and assistance with translating so that all members of the community can be made welcome.

As a voluntary punishment to myself for so often postponing this event and compensation for all the bards that manage to keep their interest up, I am offering a participation prize to all competitors on the day of the event in addition to the prizes awarded to the winners.

The old language event will be (( Sunday, November 9th @ 9PM german time )) judged by Rosendil and the new language event will now be (( Sunday, November 9th @ 9PM US eastern time )) judged by Fianna. You now have twice the opportunity to compete and be entertained. There will be prizes for the competitors and winners of both events as well as diversion and amusement for the audiences. Es war mir unmöglich an dem Wettbewerb teilzunehmen weil ich Verpflichtungen anderer Art hatte, die kurzfristig sehr wichtig erschienen. Sie nahmen mich derart in Anspruch, dass ich es nicht einmal schaffte rechtzeitig eine Taube zu schicken.

I was unsure if I would be in the area of Trolls Bane by the time the competition was set. If you are allowing late entries I would be interested in performing in the competition. I will try to be as on time as possible, though I will need to tune up my lute before hand.
