An old amulet is hung from a nail on the wooden part of the well by Eliza's, below is a note, written in an experienced hand

I know it seems like it would be better for many peopele if i would be dead.
Yes, i should be dead, i agree. I did so much things, i shouldnt have done.
I apologize to all people i have done somthing wrong to, but especially i want to apologize to the one woman, i hurted hard.
I AM SO SORRY.
I turned my life completely now. I will do the exatcly opposite of what i was doing before. I promise
