I have updated, installed. Get to the character prompt, as I try to login, an error comes up saying "unable to launch the application".
Clicked details, the following error comes up:

java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

unexpected exception occured.

try to start it a few times. ( around 5 or 6 times ) maybe it starts working. If not, remove the client and install it again. Maybe this helps.

I'm getting the exact same error. After several fails at logging in, I uninstalled the client and attempted to reinstall. New problem, the installer doesn't seem to be working properly, instead of installing the game it goes directly to the character log in, and I still get the same error...

edit: fixed part of it, the uninstaller didn't completely uninstall the game

The "InvocationTargetException" means that the client is incomplete, probably one ore more component was not downloaded properly and is damaged.

The only thing is to try starting again. If the client does not attempt to download any more components and fails again, you need to completely uninstall it from the java webstart window and re-download it upon the next start. As this is a problem between Java and networking, there is nothing else to do, the client itself is working.

beim downlaod des neuen client, stoppt dieser prozess bei etwa 2/3... die Anzeige der Dauer in Sekunden steigt dann an und an. nach einer weile steht die Meldung da: Download angehalten. Dies passiert immer und immer wieder.

PO Aleytys hat die (wahrscheinliche) Lösung an anderer Stelle wie folgt beschrieben:

Lösche den alten Clienten, dann gehe zu Java lösche dort ebenfalls Illarion oder die temporären Dateien.
Dann starte den Download wieder

Genauso habe ich es nach etlichen anderen vergeblichen Versuchen auch gemacht und es hat geklappt!!!

auch ne halbstuendige unterbrechung scheint noch in ordnung zu sein.
wenn man den client oeffnet, unter "special" was sollte man da eingeben?
frame rate?
was ist ein relatives mausrad??
was bedeutet "mouse wrap"?? (normal hab ich die nicht eingewickelt...)

Frame rate ist die anzahl der Bilder, die je Sekunde angezeigt werden, höhere Framerates lassen alles flüssiger erscheinen, geht jedoch auch auf Kosten von Geschwindigkeit, manche Framerates verlangsamen den Client deutlich, um die 10 bis 12 ist wohl die schnellste Einstellung.

Die Einstellung mit dem Mausrad hat einen Einfluss auf den Zähler, eingeschaltetes relatives Mausrad reagiert "sanfter" auf Bewegungen, ich denke es ist nur nützlich mit sensitiven Mäusen, bei mir komme ich bei relativer Maus nicht mal über 9 hinweg, weil die Nummern hoch und runterrutschen wie wild.

Mausumbruch..uhh keine Ahnung.

Framerate ist richtig erklärt. Normal ist so 20, mit einer Spielemaschine kann man bis 30 gehen.

Mausrad und Wrap wird nur auf bestimmten Maschinen gebraucht, die exotisches Verhalten haben.

An den Special-Einstellungen sollte man nicht rumspielen solange man keine Probleme hat.

Ist ja auch mal was als ?? rumzuschluffen, kann mir da aber einer helfen?

War es ein bewegliches Item?

Denn an dem Ort sehe ich keine Fragezeichen.

Bist du mit dem richtigen (normalen) Client drin gewesen?

Ich war mit dem normalen Client drinne.

Mit dem Testclient zeigt er alles an.

Gibt es noch etwas das ich ausser client löschen, temporäre dateien löschen tun kann?
Ich löschte jetz den client, UND die temporären dateien in java, und konnte endlich downloaden. Aber ich komme nicht ig. Selbes Problem wie zuvor.

I still have that problem with log in. I deleted illarion from java and reinstalled. Didn't work. So i deletated java and installed again. Nothing. I even tried with other versions of java. So i have to ask how to uninstall illarion ? I did 'remove application'. I suppose that something from other version is still on disc after deleted.

I would delete and re install everything, except that I cannot find the program to delete it. Anyone know something I could do?
I have Vista, if that helps.

Start -> Run -> javaws -> OK -> User -> Illarion Client -> Remove selected application.

Alright, I ran javaws (and java just incase that was a typo), and something called "Java(TM) Web Start 1.6.0_02" came up.
All I can do on that is select 'OK', and then nothing comes up.

You have to type "javaws -viewer", this takes you directly into the cache viewer of java.

I get the cache viewer of java just with "javaws" >_> .

when I type in 'javaws viewer', i just get something saying its unable to launch the application, ?*sighs*

also langsam bekomme ich echt zu viel... ich habe alles durchgelesen was es zum neuen client gibt.
Habe JAVA deinstaliert und wieder neu drauf. Das gleiche habe ich auch mit dem Client gemacht. Noch immer bekomme ich eine Meldung das die Anwendung nicht gestarted werden konnte.
Über 30 mal habe ich es versucht und dann erneut alles runter geschmissen und alles wieder drauf.....

Es ist schön das sooo viele damit klar kommen warum komme ich seid Sontag nicht mehr rein?
