When you follow the direction the screaming comes from you'll find yourself at the entrence of the coppermine. After you steped into, a hugh golem will block your way to the helpless one.
"Please, free me, please!"
While fighting the golem you'll see a frightened dwarf sitting shivering near the ledder which leads donwstairs deeper into the mine.
