Eldan Monastery

Dear people,

It is about the Eldan Monastery, founded by "Falk vom Wald", destroyed within the late Lich Wars and rebuilt by the Druids of the Forest with the aim to find a home for Credii.

The Monastery stays outside of any territory in the northern part of the western woods, between the territory of Greenbriar and Trolls Bane.

Last owner is btw. was Credii, in agreement of the Druids of the Forest (the neighbours), who supported them to rebuilt it.

Credii is inactive now. The only one i was able to find was the old leader Caecilianus Cathari. He ready gave me last materials, which he had to pay for my work. But i still have an open bill about 2 gold coins. He and his "dead" group is not able to pay it. Mister Cathari knows that, so he agree in general, that the monastery need new inhabitants. People who take care for it.

The first who came to me, with the wish to overtake it, is Mister Rothman. He ready visited the monastery. And it seems like, the Druids of the Forest are in knowledge about him. He ready agreed with me about general conditions....

Now i see, that propably since a while other people are interested too. Lady Cad'ell and Mister Marescot.

Within this new situation, i see my job as judge between these parties, with the aim, to get the best solution for the Eldan Monstery in view of the old owners of Credii and the Druids of the Forest, who payed a lot for it without to get a benefit until now.

The new owners have to handle with following conditions:
  • The monastery is directed to Eldan
  • The altar room has to be open for public access in general
  • The Expleti Caecilianus Cathari and his novices have right to stay in the monastery
  • The storage between the monastery and the druid house is property of both as long as no new contracts in agreement of both are made
  • The farmland between the monastery and the druid house is property of the druids. But if i remember right, the monastery has a right to use it.
  • Very limited potential to expand the building:
    • Maybe second floor above of the current libary building
    • Right for a crypt below of the altar room, so that members of the family can be inhumed there.
Furthermore the new owners have to hand me 2 gold coins for the still open bill of repairs.

I wish, that all included parties write here about their aims in matter of the monastery, so that the whole discussion stays together and the overview is guaranted.

Included parties:

-Mister Rothman, with the aim to overtake it.
-Mister Marescot, Lady Cad'ell with the aim to overtake it.
-Mister Cathari as last represant of Credii - old owners.
-Druids of the Forest as neighbours and main supporters of the current building.

I am also interrested in purchasing the monastry.

I have never publically announced my concern for the fate of the building,
nor have I supported the rebuilding process in the past,
just as mister Marescot or Lady Cad'ell have not.

I have no group guild or other kind of organisation behind me,
sharing this interrest of mine, just as Lady Cad'ell has not.

I do have abundant plans however on how the monastry will be used after it is purchased by myself, which I will readily supply to you, mister MacGintish, so I sincerely hope that I am admitted as a party in this conflict aswell, just as mister Marescot was, as he holds as much right to decide about the fate of the building as I do, or any other man on the street.

----------

As I understand it, only guilds being able to take over the Monastery, whoever has an interest in it, is due to the guild they are affiliated with and if so, possibly listing the guild rather then the person would be less confusing. (( http://illarion.org/community/wiki/inde ... n_build.3F ))

As nobody spoke upon a guilds behalf except for Julius Rothman and Kallahorn, that suggestion, miss Eanstray if acknowledged overrules the need for a "judgement" over who shall have what say in who will get the building now.

Dear Mr. MacGinitsh,

kindly note that the druids of the forest never claimed neither building nor ground of the monastry of Eldan.
We just did what we thought was overdue since long: building up again a holy site, which has been neglected since its ruin during the lich wars, in order not to displease the Gods any longer.

All we want is that holy sites are kept holy and treasured as they have originally been intended to.

However, I would like to point out that we still would like to reserve a right to raise our voice in this matter to make sure that neither the building nor the ground will be abused for anybody's personal purpose.

Sincerely

I would like to offer to take the monastry of Eldan as a protectorate.

I have no personal demands on the monastry and will leave it complete in the hands of the believers in Eldan.

Aside to the open bill I'm willing and able to pay future building projects additional to all current cost like fire insurace.

With kind regards

Dear people,

A first decision is made. I hope it will be the only and last one. But if i read all the letters i got, i have the feeling, this story will not end soon.

After a new talk with Mister Cathari as old-owner about all the interested people, we both decided following:

The knights of Kallahorn are the owners of the Eldan Monastery and have to take care for it and Sir Julius Rothman as head of the knighthood can use the title as "Abbot of the Eldan Monastery". He should have his right to show his potential to lead it.

More decisions about the happen in the monastery can be announced by Sir Rothman hisself, but have to be in agreement with the general conditions and all agreements, which are made with mister Cathari.

This whole decision here is at least for the next year. Within this time he will be proved by Mister Cathari. If the knights of Kallahorn act against the made agreements and conditions, the ownership will be removed. Without an dissagreement of Mister Cathari the decicison will stay for ever.

I hope that everyone will respect this decision, which is made by me in agreement with Mister Cathari. Mister Cathari do not want to be involved in political conflicts in this matter. If anyone does not agree with it, he has to discuss it with the Knights of Kallahorn.

A glorious decision, Mister Lorian. I shall serve Sir Cathari and the Eldan Monastery to the best of my abilities. Should anyone have anymore questions about this matter, please refrain from asking or discussing here. A dove should be able to find me, depending on the weather.

Thank you,

I speak in disagreement. Lady Cad'ell and myself still wish to help with the monestary debit. I appologise for my lateness, but I do have a little devil to take care of on top of other things. However I propose this since Julius is very unwilling to give up on his endevor. The deed for the monestary be signed by the following people: Faladron, Julius, Cathari, Lady Cad'ell, and myself. I propose this so that the debits of the monestary are divided between multiple people. Also, if there is to be an addition to the monestary you have five people who can provide for the extention. On the otherhand, this also insures that if say one of us must leave the isle for family buisness for say, a year. The monestary will still be there when they return.

And for the aim of Lady Cad'ell and myself. We simply wish to see that it is in good hands and make it a place where priests, paladins, and monks can live and train, as well as a safe place for those in need of shelter. I am sure this is on all of our adjendas and I don't see the need for a debate on who "owns" the land.

I am told that Julius wants to make the place a gettaway for his pages to study. Well how about both knighthoods chip in on this and make a study room filled with books and the like for pages, scholars, and anyone else who is trying to find something. There is area above the library, why not have us make the study area there?

I hope you find this idea agreeable, Julius.

Sir Dantagon Marescot
Greetings Mister Dantagon,

I knew you'd poke your ugly head into my business once more. The "monestary debit" (did you mean monastery debt?) has been dealt with accordingly by my own treasury, Sir Marescot. As you showed last night, you are misinformed on this entire situation. Instead of hastily writing your messages, perhaps you can control your anger and look into the situation?

As for your proposal. I will be willing to look into the matter further one year from now. I want to have no affiliation in anyway with your Knighthood or an inactive Gwendolin that I have yet to hear from. Wait one year, see how I do, and then propose that plan again.

With best wishes,

Are the Knights of Dawn welcome in the monastery?
We are:
Indril Linwelin, Dame of Spirit
Athian Corulas, Knight of Fire
Isilwen Anrion, Dame of Water
Garius Stonehammer, Knight of Earth
humbly yours, Konrad Knox, Knight of Air

If the monastery is active again, we would be often visitors to the place like this for spiritual rest and just to pay respects to our beloved dieties.

Be greeted Sir Knox,

Everyone on Gobaith is welcomed to stay and dwell in the monastery as long as they respect the Eldan followers, the land and the buildings. I am here often and would enjoy company such as the list you mentioned.

With best wishes,

Great! A reason to rejoice! It will be great to see the almost forgotten monastery be active again and hold service!
