Twice now, as I approach the fire near the workshop in Troll's Bane, the client slows to a crawl, and other player's text scrolls by at a rate of one line every 10 seconds or so.

The load on my CPU is low, and my computer otherwise reacts normally - it's only the Illarion window that has the problem.

Qutting and restarting the client works around the problem.

I suffer the same problem in case there are characters working in the workshop. The rate of the smithing sound freezes my client.

Try to disable the sound effects in the settings of the client and see if its any better this way.
