Illarion\*Charname*\names.tbl
there are your #i's. Just copy the file (or the content) into your new char's directory.

That is why I stress the importance of either a good CD or DVD burner and a large supply of CD-Rs or DVD-Rs, or a USB stick with a large amount of space. Also, MP3 players can somehow double as backup units that can't transport to certain computers (I know from experience between me and my computer guru friend.)

No, no.. calm down.
I was asking why you were using a HD dvd for your illarion files.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I always zip and email my character profiles to myself, this way they are stored on the email hosts' hard drive and can be downloaded at whim.

And I back up my data and never wipe my hard disc unless I get something really nasty or need to downgrade operating systems.

I carve every important data in stone blocks.
--honestly, USB sticks or secondary hard drives work fine.
