Hello.. I'm a total newbie.
I'm only interested in the crafting aspect of the game, so I am wondering: which of the numerous crafts are actually relatively easy (as opposed to grinding) and useful/profitable? I've been reading some threads, and it seems some of the crafts have no use at all (like tailoring).

Hooray for roleplay.

Technically there's no craft which doesn't involve grinding. The most useful craft is probably smithing. You'll be getting a lot of work, but it involves mining, and leather collecting later on.

Well, thank you so much... But Hadrian already said: become a smith... and start roleplaying!!!

tayloring and herb collecting are not very usefull at the moment.
farming makes some money, if you got the patience to wait for the plants to grow.
most other crafts "feed" the crafters adequately.
(i don't know about glasmaking)
