I don't plan to become a glass blower but I would like to know how this works since I've tried it and can't seem to get it right.

1st I dug coarse sand near varshikar
2nd I used a sieve and got quartz sand
3rd I went to a glass melting oven(wooden shovel and brick mold in hand quartz sand and potash on belt) and attempted to use the wooden shovel, nothing happens
I attempted to use the brick mold nothing happens
I used the glass melting oven and I'm told I need clay and raw bricks to fire bricks...

am I missing a step or am I just doing something wrong

edit: looked over the wiki page again it says I need fine sand, but it also says fine sand is made by using a seive which is the way I got quartz sand...are these 2 the same?

Its the same.

But you need a glass blow pipe to blow glass.

To blow glass yes, but you also need glass ingots. Making those is the part I'm having trouble with.

Ah, yes. Normally I would say "Find out IG", but it is confusing and the lack of Glassblowers IG shows that others have the same problem.

So here goes:

To Make Glass Ingots:
You need a Glassblow-pipe in hand and the brick mold.

Sand and ash in belt.

"Use" the Oven "With" the pipe. It will begin making Glass Ingots, 1 sand to 1 ash.

To blow Glass:
Glass Blow-Pipe and Wooden Shovel in hand, just 'Use' the Glass Blow-pipe and then select what you are able to make.

There aren't many items in this craft to make, so don't get discouraged if you don't see progress after 10 'swirlies'. It takes a while to become good enough to make anything useful.

'tis always a good idea to have a look at the Illapedia. Those who are able to might want to expand the article in question (e.g. produceable goods, appropiate linking to the hand tools article, some more trivia gibberish,...).

thanks for the info...and now I'm tempted to correct the wiki, but I'll leave it to someone who knows more about it than I do
