"Other" races

I've noticed from time to time on the players list a person or two under the racial category of "other" (one being a spirit, and the other a wolf). I was wondering Can anyone tell me any info about this?

I think those are quest characters that only admins can set your race to, like skeletons/trolls/stuff like that..
Also, I think the "newbies" boards would have been more appropriate, but w/e.

They CAN be quester-chars.
But not all are.

I said quest characters, not questers' characters..

No, you don't be a dickweed.
I thought you meant characters for quest that are undergoing right now.

Technically its possible to play every race avaiable in Illarion.
But the most races are limited to be used at quests. These uncommon races are listed at "other" and the characters at nearly all times created to serve a quest.

Kiddies, it's enough and not worth to say anything more to the jealousy you're showing once again.
Get back to the topic or - you all know what will happen.

Why does this topic ~always~ get bashed down by "oh you are just so jealous" or "you don't know nothing about this topic" why not explain it then...oh wait let me ask yes its a completly secret plot that we can't yet reveal right ..right?

Because you do not drop it after we bashed it down once. You know already that you do not receive a answer you will like. Why do you ask again and again? Do you think with asking again and again the answer will change? Trust me it won't.
The GMs could tell you of cause about all currently running plots in detail. But the problem is, that we would have to do this in public. Else others come in a similar way as you do now and ask why we give that informations to some but not to all and blame us for prefering some players. But if we would do this in public, we would spoil the point of some quests as well as the fun for the most players. I considered all times that it is fun to try to find something out and making one thougths ingame about some things that go on. It leaves space open for rumors and presumptions, I always considered this as good roleplay and the part of Illarion that causes the most fun. And thats what we acutually want.
If we would give of cause the informations to you, the players. And you wouldn't be allowed to let your characters know that. But I guess 95% of the presumptions ingame would be absolutly correct. And its, at least to me, no fun to speculate about something I already know.
Thats the the reason those informations are not publicized.
And again there is the question. Why did Djironnyma get a ghost character and me not?
And the answer is, as usual simple. He came up with a quest plot that was possible to realize and fitting into Illarion. Why should we reject to give him the needed support to do this, considering that this will help the game.
So I wonder where are the quest plots of the one who moan here that they did not got such a quest character. I fail to find them.
You moan that you don't get something you never asked for. Don't think the staff members come to ask you if you want to play such a character. Of cause this happens to from time to time. But pretty seldom and only for characters that are used in a very limited time.

topic
There are NPC (Non Player Character). This can be Chars how drowes, animals, undead and so on. The most other Chars are quest-Chars but it give free NPC. Thus there is a wolf, raven, ghost, skeleton, demon and more which nothing (or only indireckt) to be connected with quest.
It give Quest and free other Chars.
Thus I understand it.

Thema

Why do you ~always~ come back to that, why would we want to get a ghostchar who normally could do nothing, the "moaning" is pointed elsewhere.

This is exactly the reason, its "not" fitting, that castle and the magic well aswell, always where "possesed" or "bad", its almost fitting for a "magic vortex", but he simply can twist the rules of magic in his way as he pleases, so tell me then why other magic chars have to stick to the rules, why does the magical academy work for everything we build and not simply "cast a spell" like its allowed for Dji?
Another thing, you talk about plots and quests, how long did we got Darlosk quest..a month..two maybe before it came to a conclussion, how long is the "magic academy of Varshikar" allready open and in businiss and further more, I do fail to see any plotlines anyway, there is ~nothing~ that could harm this castle, because I'm sure as soon as someone tries something and even succeeds in damaging the castle the ghost will simply speak yet another spell to rebuild the castle.
And rumors or blaming dji for being not the one who he pretends to be is ignored ig anyway, i sat in the middle of varshiakr for several times now, literally insulting Dji, while one of his studends stood around and it was simply "ignored", so much for "rumors"
