I know it is a silly question but - how to sell?

Why can't I buy the coal or others? When I try it the NPC always says "You don't have this item" but I have it! So what to do??
The NPC for selling is the lizzard, for buying things, the human person.
The NPC Liz doesn't buy all things. For example, he doesn't buy coal or iron or wood.
Make products from these raw materials and sell them.
