Muttersprache // mother tongue

////////////////////

I read a bit in my log today and I remarked that it seems as my chars mother tonuge would be the common language. And I'm sure it counts for most of the chars of the players.

We have a nice language system and we should use it "correctly".

So when your human char meets an other human char let them talk in the human language.
It counts for every race, but especially for humans.
In this case the dwarfs and elves are preety ideal.

I don't actually see why, as long as I know the Common language is taken from the human language, means the normal human language would sound like common with heavy accent, making use of it seems kinda.."useless".

I agree, use your languages!

Bavarian (bayrisch) is a heavy heavy accent. If someone talks it, I can't understand him.
This is a simpel analogy. I hope the point is clear.

I disagree with this idea, Trollsbane is a town of cultural and racial diversity, so I would think the common language would be more spoken. Besides, one must take account which language the individual characters are more comfortable with, for example, though hispanic, I talk to other hispanics in English because I prefer it to Spanish.

Some of my human characters do, some don't. It all depends on their view of language and race.

If I could change language with a mouse-click, I maybe would do it :).

Typing that short command is no work at all.

@ Thorwald

P.S. OK was erwartet man von einen Elf :P

A trigger in the client would be even less work :D. It is annoying if you change fast and often between languages (well, you could use macros).

Maybe for you.
But also for our devs?

You can store that command on one of the shortcut keys you can use to store self descriptions as well.

Just safe !l human and !l common there. Then you only have to press the F# key and press enter.

;)

I think in the far end, all keyboard-only commands will be available via GUI...
