It's that time again

Time for guinea pig recruitment, that is ;)

I need volunteers! If you do not currently have a character that is taking part in one of my quests, and you would like to, PM me with your character's name and a little bit about him/her/it. I will announce the specific date/time when I have everything ready, but this is likely to take place on a weekend.

Here's what you're signing up for:

- No permanent changes will be made to your character that you do not wish to make (i.e. Character development as affected by the events is completely up to you)
- Your character will be "stuck" in the situation I'm planning until the quest is solved. If you have some plans for your character that fall in the immediate future, don't PM me
- You must comply to the conditions I set during the event. If you're going to whine because I'm not letting you do certain things that would get your character out of the planned situation easily, don't bother. This is a RP quest, not a "use my skills ftw" quest.

So if you think you can live with my demands, I'm sure this will be a lot of fun! I will be choosing around 5 characters, maybe a few more. Don't worry, because everyone will have a chance to take part, not just the select few.

What is the quest about, and is it being held this weekend, and at what time? Because if it's being held this weekend, I may be able to join in if I don't get sidetracked by anime, NeoPets, or my MUD...or sleep until noon GMT -8.

-edit- Okay, I just re-read the post...I'll be sending you a PM soon.

Bravo Naerwyn, you make the chance of anyone complaining about your quest dwindingly small with that disclaimer.

(Although some of the things should be clear to all anyway).

If you can't just trust the gm, and listen, than don't volunteer. She basically said that she will, Not kill you, not babysit you, and let you have creative control within the limits of the needs of the quest. If she told you much more, it would spoil it for you.

Faladron needs to calm down and be nice...

I think he picked a rude way to point out that some quests may take form of "ok, so, your character is going to be stuck in a cell 10 by 10 tiles for 5 days until rescued". He was trying to make sure it's not that type of deal, though it's just my guess as he was pretty vague.

If I told you too much, it'd spoil the fun ;)

How so? Might PM me please with what you mean?

I just pointed out it is a good idea to tell people beforehand what might happen to their characters in a quest instead of them complaining afterwards, or inbetween and spoiling the fun (as it has happened in the past, no not adressing anyone in particular, no not adressing and insulting the community as a whole, no not trying to pick on anyone, yes, just pointing that out)

Sheesh...

If you write, people cannot see gestures and body languague and stuff, and if one is not a native english speaker it can easily happen that one's tone can be misunderstood. Happens all the time and is the reason for a lot of mean comments and bad atmosphere on the boards.
But can be avoided, if you PM people about misunderstandeable posts, keep a friendly tone and mention that their post can be misunderstood in that way.

It is a good choice NOT to seek for words and letters that allow you to write an angry post.
Instead, try seing every poster as "nice" person first who you can misunderstand.
And if everyone sticks to that, we can have a friendly atmosphere on the boards, someday.

I would say, if you are at all hesitant about it, just don't volunteer, later on you may decide to volunteer for another one.
No permanent changes will be made to your character that you do not wish to make
As far as I am concerned, this is all I would need to know of the quest, the rest I would rather find out in game.

I'd like to know a brief bit in a PM, then learn the rest in-game, so I can plan some basic RP ahead of time, and elaborate in-game.

And Saturday and Sunday look open for me as of today. Possibly Friday too.
