~~ Gobaith's Fate is Sealed ~~

A note, written in bold, red ink is stuck to every major town and settlement board throughout Gobaith. The ink seems to have the same consistency as blood.

Dear Inhabitant of this isle, Gobaith,
  • I have seen it, with my own eyes the fate of this isle. It's fate, change.
For years, I'd been imprisoned. Imprisoned by a powerful wizard, whos
    name is unknown to me.
I'd been awakened by a band of cowardly scalawags. Who in doing so,
    expected payment from me.
They told me to swear the oath of a Pirate, a Pillager, a right foul Thief.
    But this is not I.

I had better plans, plans to rule this isle of Gobaith, they'd set out to.
Every one of them, every scalawag on that ship, lost his life to my hand.
Enraged was I, and still am.

Now, I speak directly to you, the inhabitants of Gobaith.
Welcome me, as your new King and ruler. There no longer will be any separate governments.
There will be only one, mine.

Resistance is futile, and your attempts at overthrowing me, will surely fail.
So accept me, dear people, and not suffer the fate of those Seamen.

Those who accept this new change, my rule, will be rewarded.
Those who rebel, will be dealt with severly and promptly.

If your dream is to rule Gobaith, a small humble island, then I would have serious doubts about your abilities and perspective, if you are unable to chew more than the rightful inhabitants and leaders of this land. I've seen the days of Darlok come and go, I've seen the days of powerful liches come and go, evil temples of death and destruction, civil war, orc wars, and I look forward to putting you in the same location in my memory.

~A dwarf walks by with a beer in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. He reads the post, and immediately chugs the last of his beer.~

Are you serious? It would be easier to be Governor of Trolls Bane for life than to conquer this Isle. Suit yourself though, just leave your dimensions, and we'll be sure to make the Coffin big enough for you. We take pride in quality here, even in coffin making.

A man stops by to read one of the notes, the one in Trollsbane to be precisely.

Staves, bows and arrows... mhm, lots of those.

He says out loud before walking on.

Not all are opposed to a new rule. Feel welcomed by some Prophetking Maakon Nihondril.

I like your style, mate. Care to join me in a partnership and entertain the crowd? Together we'd do great as a comedy group.

Walking past the Trolls Bane board wearing armor fitting for a 14 year old that the Smith had carefully engraved a skull and crossbones on, Letia spies the leather and lifts it up curiously. Her blue eyes widen as she reads the parchment underneath and she strikes through
a right foul Thief
Upon reading
Every one of them, every scalawag on that ship, lost his life to my hand
she turns quickly pulling the leather with her, dropping it on the ground as she mumbles in the deepest voice she can muster..

Two separate parchments now hang, one beside the other. Written in much the same way, and with the same ink.

Dear Rok Kré Ho,
  • My power is limitless, orc.
Have your clan strike under my rule,
And may the rewards be great.

Have them deny me, and my requests,
And they will perish like the rest of the rebelious rats.

----

Dear Inhabitants of Gobaith,
  • Those of you who rebel against my rule,
Need to gather quickly. For I plan to make my power visable soon.

Those of you who've done the intelligent thing, and accepted me as their new ruler.
Need to send a dove to my servant. Discreetly if you wish.
You will not be named publicly.

Just know, those who have accepted, you are mine now.
You will do as I say, when I say it.
Failure to do so, will cost you your life.

    Think quickly,
    Gobaith.

I don't think you have the insight to the true question I asked, Prophetking. Your answer was not sufficient.

No, you do not. That was not the point. Your answer was quite clear, however it was not addressing my question and therefore incorrect.

I never asked to explain yourself, just to answer the question.

A new, fresh parchment is now posted, stuck above all the others.

Dear Inhabitants of Gobaith,
  • I talk to you now, about the safety of some of you, upon the isle.
I know that a great deal oppose me and my new rule, and those are the ones who I fear for.

Already, those pledging their allegience to me is growing, even as we speak.
I have fierce warriors, offering their blades, powerful mages offering their knowledge of the arcane, and many more, now loyal servants.

I speak to you rebellious individuals now,
Do not be foolish. Do not try to overthrow, or bring harm to me in any way.
It -WILL- cost you your life, and the lives of those you hold dear.

    Think fast, rats,
    For your time is coming.
The doom of you rebellious people, is inevitable.

Why don't you be realistic and just say that you have very little to offer the people of this island? What you have to offer is slavery, where the people are unable to go about their business and their lives, living in your shadow. What makes you think you can offer the time and concern that is needed for the islands problems?

As for your followers, they will all be found out in town, and I'll make sure their names are made open and clear for everyone to see, and I will begin the parchment "We turned on our neighbors to go serve an unstable maniac that we've never met and will aid him for no apparent decent reason," and I will make sure their ill decision follows them for a long time, well after you have been defeated.

  • You know nothing of me.
Nothing of what I plan on doing.

I know alot about you, personally, already.
I know alot about those who wish to rebel.

    I even have names.

The first thing I must do, before giving anything to the isle,
Is to erase those who would spoil my plans.

Step up like a man and list your followers, otherwise either you are too cowardly, or they aren't so confident in following you to allow it.

  • I, am not cowardly.
I 'care' for my followers enough to keep them shadowed.

If I were to publicly display their names,
You would either kill them, or jail them.
Then who will I have to help me clear out the rats?

I keep them shadowed for their own good.
    To 'protect' them.
