Nominations for Governor of Troll's Bane

Posted: Sun Jan 27, 2008 4:55 am
by Fooser
It isn't fair to stick around when no election was done between Edward and myself, so I'm opening nominations slightly early, since the town faces a lot of problems that will most likely span into the next weeks, and beyond the scope of the current governor, so doing this soon and quick will be the best way to deal with that.

Requirements:
1) Person must be a citizen of Troll's Bane.
2) One can nominate themself.
3) If one nominates another, the person must accept publicly to be included.

The citizen's list has been closed for nominations and voting, and will remain as is for the next week or two until this is over.

Nominations
Fooser
Brer Beothach (dropped out)
Deuce
Konrad Knox

Considering the fine job I have seen him done and that I have not once heard a complaint, I'll make the first step, as I know someone else would have done the same sooner or later.

I re-nominate Fooser if he wishes to have the chance to remain Bane's governor.

One can notice a man walking up to the town boards and reading all the parchements. He then takes a list out of his pocket and scribbles some words on it. He then walks off chuckling

A townswoman reads the board, and does a double take as she reads the last posting. She pulls a piece of charcoal out of her pocket, and leans over as though to strike through something written there, then pulls her hand back at the last moment.

She walks away, chuckling and shaking her head.

Having Evan Ross's vote, I accept and vote for myself as well.
I'm a fine smith, a decent dancer, and a good peace loving citizen. An entertainer with a good sense of judgement. I'm skilled at mathematics, survival, and route planning.

With my leadership we can accomplish the following things on the agenda:

1. Support more miners and crafters, and growth of trade routes between Varshikar, Silverbrand, Goldburg, and Greenbriar.
2. Build more roads and redesign the landscaping a bit to remove unnecessary pesky hedges in some of those uncomfortable to pass spots.
3. Definitely more bridges, to make access to the town gates easier.
4. Better security - gate sentry guards who actually do more than randomly tumble around and pick their nose.
5. Lower sales taxes in the town shops.
6. Encouraged bounty system to stimulate people to hunt down vicious criminals and bring them alive to justice.
7. During the nights when mummies raise from the ground and replicate from violence, establish patrols making sure no one is spreading them on purpose.
8. Regular daily military training for all guards and willing citizens, in organized groups.

No major change in laws, the crime prosecution system seems to work rather smooth. The streets are peaceful most of the time.

Don't get me wrong at all, I think Fooser is doing a superior job, but hey, why not try myself at this, if people would support me.

Nominations have closed, official voting will start around one dwarven week from now, perhaps slightly longer if there is a delay of any sort.

A small child, Likely no older then 14 or 15, walks up to the board of Trollsbane with a grin on his face. He places a note on the board then runs off laughing.

Then I would like to point out the following. The rules state-
Requirements:
1) Person must be a citizen of Troll's Bane.
2) One can nominate themself.
3) If one nominates another, the person must accept publicly to be included.
Now, Fooser neither nominated himself, OR PUBLICLY ACCEPTED his multiple nominations. Thus it would seem he has not completed all of the requirements. As nominations are "More than 100% closed" it seems he is not able to run for Governor.

~Respectfully,
Roland Ross~

Seeing as I am the one who is writing the names down, if I did not accept publicly, I wouldn't have written my name down. Since I did write my name down I accepted, and it is public for all to see. It's unfortunate if you are too feeble to fit that together.
