Okay, so my goal is to become a mage.

I read the wiki page, well enough to understand the basics at least. And it says I need to learn enough of the ancient language before master mages will start teaching me runes, although I would imagine finding a master mage is difficult enough, but thats a whole other post.


My question is how do I go about learning the Ancient Language?

you will learn ancient by a magic teacher. he will teach you first ancient, than runes.

Geez allready tell him that he needs a "Ancient book" but you can only get this from a mage and mages only give it out to their students, so you first need to find a mage and get the Book from him, with this you get the skill, mind you even if you speak ancient, the language will only be "unlocked" if you have a book, so switching to ancient and talk away brings nothing.

Ignore this post, just read the language thread, makes much more sense now.
