NPC and game remarks

When showing the game to new PO's typically the NPC particularly at the pig pen has been irritating at best, embarrassing at most. I have not had a good remark from any new PO yet. How mature do you want the game to seem to new PO's, what age do you want to attract?
The latest of having to "throw a bucket" on your char in order not to "smell like a cow" is just another example.
I would like all the extra NPC/game remarks similar taken out of the game or at least voted on each one.

I think:
- It shouldn't be an auto #me. It should let some freedom to the player, who might not be willing or happy to act on it and RP it or might want his/her own way to RP it.
- It should send some message to that only char, to warn him/her that the char is in that 'state' or whatever the situation is (especially if it may bring some attrs change or anything).
Thus I vote first.
I wouldn't be bothered too much though if they were kept.

girl,
I, the PO tjalf, am nearly 56. I play for fun. if the game would be made more "mature", more serious, it would be less fun.
real life is serious enough.
and i love "the cowstink"!
(got one char maxed out in it, without having been washed by others more then twice on the way)

I also like the cow stink. Starling particularly likes a man who 'smells a bit of cow.' The NPC at the pigpen could stop blowing spitbubbles and sticking his finger in his pants, though he is starting to grow on me.

if you start to talk with the pigpen guy you will udnerstand that he is an simple idiot something we truely need in illarion, there are only a few people uneducated and taken from the history almost every char is coming from some kind of noble family, as all can writte and read, so stop complaining.

This is a poll to see who does object and who doesn't. I understand you don't, give some leaway and understand others may. The reasons may be different, but if even some do, that should point to nothing else then there may be at least a problem to some perspective. I welcome all opinions, allow others to have theirs?
Thank you abcfantasy, Kamilar for your honest opinion. Some may vote and not post any opinion at all, which is fine with me, this is mainly a poll to see exactly how many do and do not like the "feature". If anyone would like to translate it into german it would be very much appreciated.

That NPC is a joke and for fun. There are no other NPC's like that. Alright, maybe, just maybe, the drunken guard is a bit off, but it is hardly fair to compare the other 50 NPC's in game to him. I would like to see 10-20 times as many NPCs in game as there are now.

I don't like them... it also occurs to me that our NPCs do more roleplaying them most players.
I don't like the automessage, especially in a 'public' area such as the pigpen.I believe that some NPCs should have keywords set so you can have a 'conversation' with them, but I don't like them doing repeated stuff on their own.
I lyke borgate's aaaars though

Option four, actually.
At times, I like them. At times, I do not, so I suggest we get a way to turn them off for some people, and on for others. I have a feeling that everyone will say, "NOT POSSIBLE!" but I thought I might toss it out there.

Even if it were possible, it'd ruin rp if some people started talking about those npcs.

NPCs doing more RP than players is probably a problem of the players, not of the NPCs.
Oh, and BTW, if you flushed down the last bit of your humor in the toilet, you're probably wrong here.
