For Fairies

I think fairies could be good at farming since there is no alchemy which would of course fit them better.
Also farming could include planting and growing some flowers perhaps, the gatherable ones, they'd probably need special care like more watering or less watering and stuff.

Fairys allready got a huge advantage over other Races, there is no need to give them another one.

I like the idea of being able to plant and grow flowers, possibly a fairy could be able to plant and harvest in some places others could not-flower/herbs only... or possibly be allowed to harvest the elusive sun herb that seems to have disappeared from the game. Mine does a lot of RPing related to them as I imagine others may also.

((this of course would depend on how hard to set up, but also is less needed with fairy magic but that is no time soon, or at all))

Sounds like druids business.

What advantages?

Fairys got an natural advantage in a certaint skill area, won't say what, but it is here.

1.45 Pellandria. And no fairies work in that area currently. And if they are given better farming abilities, what would it matter? I doubt the same fairy would make use of both bonuses if you know what I mean.

I know what fairies have an advantage in, but compared to the 'rediculous' weak strength, who cares!

Fairies are virtually useless....that's why you don't see any of them.

To be effective, they should be 'natural' druids.....better than even trained druids, for who better than a Fairy?

They should have 60% Herb Lore AND farming like the mages get with their 'ancient language' skill. With the low strength, I doubt we'll have 'super' farmers, but it's ideal for planting trees, harvesting herbs, caring for the forests like Fairies should! Plus it will provide incentive for Druids to seek out and trade with Fairies, to make their potions rather than waste a druids time with Harvesting Herbs (It takes so long to build up that skill). Druids can then concentrate on Magic and Potions.

Fairies can't hold scythes.

Also: Fairies have a ridiculous attribute bonus; the strength means nothing if you give them double daggers.

And wtf with ancient language, it isn't even needed to cast, it's for an rp aspect. It's a completely useless skill so I don't have a clue what you're talking about there.

Can't hold scythes? Good, all the better. They just need sickles then.

As for double daggers.....I admit it's hard for me to learn which attributes affect which weapons....I just never got the hang of that. However, double daggers still doesn't do much to someone in Magical Elven Plate I've been seeing more of these days.

The 60% Ancient Language skill may be 'useless' but it is a skill nonetheless, and the only one, to my knowledge that can even be raised that fast (four pages from a book? Come on!). Faries, Gnomes and Goblins should have 'skill' bonuses to enhance the pathetic choice of Attribute' bonuses. Not everyone that plays a special race wants to 'max' out those bonuses.

I simply suggested Farming and Herblore as logical one for a fairy.

Magical elven plate isn't even all that great.

Then give Humans a skill bonus on everything because thats logical aswell?

Ancient language is hardest skill to raise anyways and its complettly useless as Alex allready said.

Mate, all languages can be raised that quickly, or almost. It can not be compared to other skills anyway, as it purely for rp purposes.

Fairies already have an insane bonus to magic (too big IMO), and they have way more atribute points to spend (if I udnerstood Alex right).

If you play a fairy, it must be because you enjoy rping a fairy. If you rp a fairy farming, or fighting with a longsword youre not rping a fairy. Fairies are not suposed to be good at fighting, however they make good archers. If all you want when you choose to play fairy is the avatar, then I dont pitty you not being able to fight.

@Pellandria --->Then give Humans a skill bonus on everything because thats logical aswell? <---- How exactly is that logical?

What if i want to be a fairy since i like to rp one and farming and planting trees means almost the same to me? a faerie has to make a living somehow too...

Then you sadly need to play the game like everyone else...and skill your fairy the way you want her to be.

Do whatever is available to you.. but you can't give them any more bonuses than they already have. I won't say what they are good at.

I wouldnt really care what faeries are good at, im joining this game cuz of the chance to make a char the way i want it to be and i wana b a faerie who plants stuff :P and it wouldnt change noting if they would b good in mining, killing, fishing whatever, that would not and wont change what i wana do, i posted the thing about the farming cuz i read one topic where sumeone said what race is good at what and when came to faeries said havent yet figured out what faeries could be good at so i gave my opinion :)

*cant await for the chars name to get approved*

If you want some char to be good at someting than you simply need to skill it farming is pretty easy anyway and some of us got chars year old and still haven't reached what our chars should/would be, so just have patience.

Don't be an ass Korm.

She said the reason she posted is because she saw another thread which stated what races got bonuses in which areas, and when she read over fairies it said 'undecided.'

Don't mind them, play the game. It is your character, and you can do with it what you please, but be consistant in your roleplay. Do not be a mage one day, and a warrior the next.

Posted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 12:07 am
by pharse
even that should be possible. Why no development of a character? If it is comprehensible...

one tip, Niala: play the game and have fun there, but don't be too active in the OOC forums for the first time. Get to know the users, find friends and find out which users will never be your friends so you can act accordingly. Sit and watch. Perhaps you are "lucky" and find friends of a certain clique which could simplify your integration.

Great game, but not all players are that great aswell...sad but true.

A new player who gets through the special race application the first time...sounds like a big potential. Would be sad to see you leaving.

Hope to see you IG!

Changing from a mage to a warrior in a day is NOT development of character. That's ridiculous.

Genius who can't hold a sword or take a punch but can cast powerful spells-> Dumbass who can't do basic maths, let alone cast a spell but can swing a big axe around in a day? Wtf, did they mess up a spell or did they get amnesia then take steroids?

I don't want you to leave. I don't even know you. But what you wrote about fairies is so much againced the (good) background for that race that I felt like laughing and crying at the same time while reading it.
