Which character was your newbie-guide?

We have talked much about ways to teach newbies to play Illarion in a good way. Ideas like Newbie Island and the Newbie Help Clan are the latest plans.

Today, I was asking myself which character once has helped me out when I was a newbie. The one who explained me how to play this strange game, based on tiles, how to pick up items and how to slash pigs. I remembered the time I wandered over the island fulll with adrenaline cause I expected a gorgeous monster behind any tree.

So, I tried to remember, but all I got out of my memory was the dwarf who helped me out with my second char. Some english speaking dwarf whose name stareted with D... :)

That is why I had a look in the logs. The first three persons I have met were:
  • Marie Tolong (explained me where the pigs are; she said she was in Illarions for 1 year)
Nalcaryos (explained me how to pick up stuff; but he could not tell me if my chars needs to wear trousers ;-) he arrived 1 week before myself)
Kilian (arrived some days before and explained me something about food and the town)
So, my deepest thanks to all four of them for the very nice and friendly first hours in Illarion! Was great atmosphere when reading over the logs again :D

Tisiphone and Kalypse. Without them, I would have quit the game on my first days.

I greeted like 15 times but noone stopped for a talk or anything. They were all quite busy with "crafting".... When I discovered the pigs and was about to kill them, Rumil Togrin came and explained how to kill them, picking up the drops, the counter and he buyed everything I got there.

He was the only person who immediately introduced himself when helping me. All others explained just in very short sentences and walked away after that.

So besides that brief pleasure with Rumil I didn't have a real "newbie guide". But the atmosphere and this mysterious feeling was catching so I stayed eventually. I don't regret that decision.

Once he was the librarian of TB and member of the Grey Light. I never meet such a patient person again.

*hugs him in memorization*

Alkuurg Bloodburner helped me (and brought me here).

Not sure if anyone remembers the legend Orc.

And yes, because he was an Orc, that's why i like playing lots of Orcs now, funny :P

I can't really remember because I had the logs deactivated at the beginning. But I guess members of the Grey Rose told me a lot about the game.

Tropan was a new character I met at the start and together we explored the world a bit (he already left Illa). Cool time...

Someone (xxxxxxxxx): Ah, most folks call me "Jess" I figure that should work. sighs I saw the char for two days and received a lot of help, then never saw again. Wishes she knew who it was to thank properly.

Mark Strongarm also helped later with crafts and advise on RPing along with Rumil and Helt Foraker.

((this was the second day ig, the first day I did not save the logs and also was ghosted by a robber LOL))

Considering I joined just yesterday, I would have to say Ayla, Dantagon, Gildon, and perhaps a bit of that Artimier fellow as well. They gave me people to RP with when I couldn't find anyone else and gave me a chance to join the knighthood. :)

Thanks, you guys.

The first one to help me was William Elderberry (before he turned into this bad guy ;-) ). Later on it was mainly Anfala Atani who taught me the most important things about this game.

Damien and Loki were by the library back in the days with no account system, explaining to everyone how the game worked. They helped me out a great deal, and then later Sir Helios (before changing to Sevious) was my newbie helper
