Simple Request for Arrows/bolts

My hope for this proposal is to help the archers ig with a simple adjustment that I think will greatly help not only the crafters but archers as well. First off the Archer system is bugged or the graphic is too slow to keep up with the amount of arrows shot. When shooting arrows quite often it will shoot two arrows simultaneously wasting valuable arrows. Second it take 5-10 arrows for new archers to kill one pig..... and it is impossible to some degree for a new comer to purchase arrows, as the merchant in Varshikar is ridiculously over priced and crafters arent much better.

One of the main reasons why arrows are not made is because it takes a new carpenter a few swirlies to even get to arrows (or at least it did) and then by the time they get there it takes them some time to master making them and it still takes quite a while to make them even if you are decently skilled. And for an experienced carpenter they get absolutely no skill from making regular arrows and the most hindering thing about making arrows is that you only produce 5 at a time.

Today I made arrows with my green skilled carpentry 250 of them it took me 17 minutes to make that many and that was complete pging with no breaks, no talking, no moving, etc. Now you might say oh 250 arrows in 17 mins isnt that bad, but please consider that it takes new comers 5-10 arrows to kill one pig...... and even for a decently skilled archer will take them even more arrows then that to kill a monster like a gnoll (which currently cant be killed by an archer solo because he would be easily chased down and hacked to pieces) Of course archers are suppose to attack mages not fighters, except that warriors protect ALL mage npcs IG!

This was all reasoning behind asking that the arrow glitch be fixed for shooting arrows (when there is time of course) and asking that crafter be able to make more arrows per board and thread to lower the ig price and increase the amount. If you just raised the amount to 10 arrows per board and thread that would cut the time in half it would take to make 100 arrows/bolts. Since we cant remove the lag after attacking can we at least let archers have shear numbers of arrows to practice and let crafters RP instead of sitting for over an hour ig to make 1000 arrows that can easily be used up in a week or so?

This char will not be very good at shooting due to mage stats, but after all this time ig it still takes from 4-5 arrows to kill a pig. I would like to be able to recover, or pick up some arrows with a missed shot also along with the above proposal.

((the loss of arrow per graphic shot can be up to 5-6 arrows and it doesn't help to put only one in hand, the rest will be taken from belt or bag. This loss seems to be random.))

I believe nitram tried to let arrows be picked up after the were shot once and it didn't work and he didn't know why. But yah, i completely agree with this as well.

Archer skill also depends on more than just your distance weapons skill. You need to have some other skills at a decent level before you should even think of using a bow. Also, gnolls can be killed but not with dark blue or light green skill. Try to get to atleast level 45-50 before you try to kill a gnoll it will help greatly. I am all for more arrows though. Also to fix the arrow glitch.

.........Oh yeah while your at it.....make gloves, boots, and greaves faster to smith. They give no skill to a decent crafter and are in WAY HIGHER need than arrows and also take MUCH MUCH more and longer to make. Smiths need to Rp to....

Not just carpentry that has problems...but it really is annoying, I will agree.

I can't say anything about smithing because I have never tried it, but I have at least dabbled in the rest of the crafts. Arrows are the most tedious of all the low level items. Worse even than dough was before the update. They should cost a fortune right now because it's painful to make them. Making arrows easier would be great.

Arrow production needs to be auto-cycled like bricks to make them viable I think. My biggest tiff about making them is having to click so much, then dealing with the interrupt messages. Before you had- (shift click tool, click archery, click arrows) Now you got - (shift click tool, click archery, click arrows, wait for first step, wait for finishing step, move to safe slot so they don't get 50%'d) It takes alot more work and time than it used to to make arrows! :(

Not just carpentry that has problems...but it really is annoying, I will agree.
Just to clarify something, my smithing is better then carpentry (he can make officer salkamaerian armor) and I still get swirlies from gloves, boots, and greaves. Not to mention that these items last WAY longer than 250 arrows and I can make boots in less then 17 minutes same goes with gloves. Like Fianna said with the time it takes to craft arrows you have to sell them at increased prices to compensate. That is bad when those arrows would be gone in a week, and carpenters dont have the option of selling arrows of lesser quality to new comers like a smith could with gloves etc. :wink:

Well, asuming you mean PC's, it's called strategy, lol, you can do the same with a good archer, support fighters from the back line.

anyway another thing is the poison arrows. It would be nice if a poison bottle could last longer then just the 5 arrows. 15 or so would be nice because it currently costs 35 copper for a yellow potion. that means for just 20 arrows it costs almost a silver in a half. And that is just for the poison not for the wood or thread. If the price of poison could be lowered or the amount used lessened it would be wonderful.

There is something wrong with the archery system. You only have to count the ammount of active archers to realise that.

First, thanks nitram for making this better <3

Second, I was wondering if throwing stars were disabled because I can't make them anymore. Or if they where just made to be harder?

If they were disabled...

I propose we bring them back! And that it is like the rest of the projectiles in that you get 5 per ingot.
