That's true.

Not every crop grows everywhere, and Onions are especially 'Hardy' plants better adapted to Northern climates.

If you want to grow Onions, it won't be easy, you'll have to travel, and may not be welcome when you get there.

Better to order the Onions, and stick with Grain.

It is possible to grow onions in Varshikar soil, i think, Am I right? I asked an orc and they told me yes, ingame. But it's kinda hard to tell who's lying and who's not. I'm trying to use onion on a soil there but it doesnt work, maybe my skill is not high enough?
Halflings in Briar sell onions, but not onion seeds. How do you find onion seeds it what I wonder about.

When you have plant onions on a field you have to wait for a while till your onions are rot and so you get new seeds or maybe even timo in briar (in one of the houses) sells them, not sure about that.

You now can only get onion seeds from another char I believe, I don't think you can buy them. So when you plant save at least half to let go to seed.

no.
if your skill is low, it might be, that you loose a mentionable part of your seeds, without little plants springing up.
but if you can not plant, either it is the wrong time of the year, or that plant does not grow in that field. (or both)
anyhow, you get a message.

but if you try to plant, and your seeds get less, then it is the right field and the right time. even if no plants grow...
