I tried to dig some sand today and I didnt get anything at all and I got flawed emotes.... it would say I start to dig for sand but it would either give me the white text that I just hit a rock while digging or it would do nothing at all. So my character has dark blue mining I guess this means he can dig sand?

I remember once it took Lance 40 minutes or so to get sand. I think it does depend on skill.

For me, it took serveral minutes of random clicking, lots of swirlies and suddenly, my char found more sand then there is on a beach. The script is definatly bugged.

i am not sure, if it is a bug, or intended.
but with various chars digging for sand, or digging for clay, it was the same. you just click every ten seconds or so, till your skill gets a little bit lighter. then, if once you dug your first shovel full of sand, or clay, it goes on easy.

the good news is, once you can dig sand, you can dig clay too. (and the other way round as well)
