The Cooking System

It seems like everyone in game is hungry suddenly, so I have been having some thoughts about cooking. All told, the system is really good, but there are a few things that would make it smoother. This would be especially nice at this time since the cooks are so busy.
First, it would be nice if it was possible while cooking sausages to have the system automatically continue as long as there were ingredients available. I couldn't count the times that I have been engaged in the roleplay and just forgot to start the cycle again. I have spent loads of time at the fire and come away with a handful of sausages.
Next, it would be really great if either the recipes were limited to what you can carry in your belt or the cycle could get the ingredients from your pack or your hand. It's sort of cumbersome swapping ingredients around to finish a dish that takes multiple ingredients.
My last comment is about the water buckets. It seems that if you have a couple of buckets going, the first one gets several uses, but the rest get only one use each. It would be nice if those later buckets got multiple uses too. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this.
One more thing actually. Would it be possible to list the ingredients of a dish, maybe not the first time you make it, but once you have made it successfully? It's a nuisance trying to remember all the ingredients and realizing one has been forgotten. It would be nice to double check that ahead of time, like reading a cookbook.

Well the Bucket system seems to go like this, at least what i think, every bucket has 10 uses(random number) so you go untill the 27 use, because the server drains the water out of the other aswell, and then you have three buckets only filled with a bit water, so when you cook again you just take the little bit out of your remaining buckets, maybe you should first try to cook with one bucket, count the tries and then do it with three buckets.
Another thing, please balance the whole backing cycle, seeding the grain, then using the mill and finally baking cost just too much "food", you can never sell any food, because you simply can't afford that, as you need all your food to produce more food, which too needs more food to produce.. I think you know what I mean, just tune it down please.

Good proposal!
I additionally would like, that cooking is more quiet, so that the roleplaying besides the fire is not disturbed that much as it actually is. It would be sufficent, if the the message "continues cooking" would only appear privately or better, if this message would be completely left out, like it is during spinning wool or cutting entrails.
Also I'd suggest reviewing the recipes, because the ingredients of some meals seem not to be very logical (e.g. 1 meat should result in more than 1 sausage and in contrast rabbit meals are quiete easy (nethertheless my characters like this ..))

You could write the recipes in a word file, print it and lay the paper on your desk.

i think, i remember, that saucages were two per meat in the past. i would think that adequate.
i agree, that automating some simple meals, like saucages and bread would further RP, while working.
in planting and harvesting grain i think, no change would be needed. milling and making dough could use a bit less food eaten.

I would agree, and not having cooked much can attest the sausages at least definitely interfere with RP if want to make them. Like Fiannna... I make very little and am waiting with a small handful after RPing.

I had a couple more random thoughts I wanted to share.
First of all, the only dish that can stack is the sausage meal. Would it be possible to stack the rest of them, too? This would of course make storage easier, but more importantly it would make trading easier since everyone suddenly wants to buy meals.
Also, I was making fish fillet meals last night and each meal took an entire bucket of water. Could that get looked at please?
@pharse: I have always been lazy about writing that stuff down, but you're right. That would be simpler.

I want cookies
the five step manual for Damiens, to get cookies:
1. go, buy an airplane ticket.
2. get on that plane.
3. check if you travelled to the right town.
4. take a cab to Narmir.
5. repeat five times:"I want cookies".

So, I noticed that sausages are still kind of buggy. I forgot to clear the belt of the already cooked sausages and accidentally turned a whole stack of cooked sausages into 2 sausages at 50%.
Just another cry for the system to be automatic.

Sausages should not have 50% intervals. It should still remain that one pork makes two sausages...full ones. Maybe lower the amount they heal then for food bar. But two for one is how it should be.

it is two saucages from one pork. (was at least a couple of hours ago)
you just make them in two steps.
if you get interrupted within the second step, you get two half-saucages.

The reason everyone's hungry recently is thus:
1) Ground's too hard to farm
2) Fruit's off the trees
The reason for this is winter, and adds great rp situations

No even in the summer time there was not enough food because there are not enough cooks. Also, your food bar drops so damn fast.
