Poisons

I want to propose an idea about antidotes concerning poison. When you fight spiders they kill you way too fast because of their poison. I once used three healing potions after I used an antidote and was still killed from spider poison. My idea is that make antidotes have a set time they work for. So say you want to go fight a spider you drink the antidote, it lasts for 5 minutes lets say, and then when you fight the spider you can not be poisoned. This prevents unnecessary deaths. Comments please anyone.

sounds okay to me. But more importantly make the poison skill a little more accessable. Its impossible to get high.

You need nothing but some nice weed for that

I am wondering if this would make the spiders too easy, how about just reducing their poison level, or increasing the antidote level?

IMO, you shouldn't have to take a health potion as an antidote.. I used to take one antidote for two spiders, lately I had to take an antidote and a health potion.. was something adjusted with them?

Nothings changed, Richard is just a noob.

If you finish fighting a spider and you find your health slowly lowers, drink 1 antidote and tadaa, you are healed and your health bar will rise as normal.

That's not exactly right. Taer got poisoned and I used four YEG SIH. He still was infected. So I drank an antidote. Tadaa, I still was poisoned. When I drank a second antidote, I finally was cured, tough.

Maybe you got poisoned 6 times then.

We went to dragon cave and Dom needed like 8 sih yegs, but griv only needed 1.

They stack, obviously. Haven't fought a spider since the last age of illarion, so I don't know but, do you get poisoned if you parry/dodge? If not, might want to team up so that you got a highly defensive person, and one/more heavy hitters. Generally I don't think this creatures should be your standard mobs, I have no idea what they drop.

I'm not sure if they do stack.

I do like the current poisoning system. Why do GIANT spiders to high poison damage? Well, aren't some normal sized spiders quite poisones? Anyways, we do not need many people running around with really high poison skills. That would be bad.

To be honest, I can't think of anything RP-wise that would fit for giant spider drops, but they deserve a small boost...

How about more than one poison per spider? (they might do drop more than one, as ive never fought them heh)

Basically, ~50% of the time I spend on the drops right now is to remove nerfs that "jeglicher Grundlage entbehren" - that are completely unfounded.

I am not planning to do any changes on spiders, but if anybody has a good idea, just post it.

mark the spider's drops for future use.
when the druids/alchemists get on the way again, you can let the spiders drop ingredients for something.

Or make poison only obtainable through them...

(it'll make poisoned weapons more expensive and sought after, so more people will go hunting them)

Bad Idea Korm.

Simple reason : A druid respect the nature and wouldnt kill an animal for this, could be possible that some Druids refusing such an ingredients... Druids don't force killing animals or harm the nature.

Furthermore the most Druids haven't fighting skills.

Perhaps some 'special' armour which is very light and yet protective? Hmm, silversteel...

Actually, I was thinking more something like "spider silk armor" for the tailors or something equally retarted.

did not think about that. i stand corrected.

that would be no reason. they could send a fighter.

Would they hire some one to kill things for them? -,-

you pay people to get ressources...you pay people for swords/food/and so on, why wouldn't you pay for ingredients?
There aren't only "good" Druids as there are not only "good" mages, there are some potions which should be hard to make and even have ingrediens of death monsters in them.

First off...there are certainly not evil druids. At least not evil in the sense of harming creatures or nature in any way. That would be an oxymoron.

Anyways, I see nothing wrong at all with anything in the poisoning system.

Sorry for this Interfere:

The identity of a "druid" is a very theoretical thing. Why druids are the friends of nature and like to huge trees and flowers like elves? Why they can not / do not want to kill something?

Thats too much of limitation. And that's why i hate to call Lennier "druid" like you want to see a druid has to be.

An "old" man, who like to explore the world and its secrets in his freetime, in a kind of a "hobby" of a rich man. A kind of a religious scientist, an alchimist, who try to mix some things for the own benefit. Druids are too much clean for me... sounds like a holy angel at earth without any bad side in its soul.
