I was playing earlier today(before work) and I'm not exactly sure what happened but the game closed, I logged in a few minutes ago all the items I had aquired(nothing really important, atleast I don't think) were gone and I am in the room I was sawing logs in north of trollsbane(grey something) above the guy that sells the hatchet

there are 2 doors both locked and I have no idea how to get out, shouldn't a door be able to be unlocked from the inside so noobies like me don't get imprisonned?

but since they aren't can someone tell me how to get out?

You went through a door to get to this room, and now the same door is locked? If that is the case, you might have to wait and ask a GM to unlock it tomorrow, but the items that are gone, possibly are due to a roll-back of the server, and if they were in your depot before, they may now be back there.

Everything that happens from the time you last logged out to the time of the crash is erased. e.g. If I logged in, walked to an npc and bought a hatchet and the server crashed, next log in I wouldn't have a hatchet. However, if I walked to an npc, bought a hatchet, logged out and the server crashed, nothing would happen.

You are stuck in the Grey Rose. That door isn't usually open, so you'd either have to wait for one of the Grey Rose to let you out, or type in:

!gm My character is stuck in a room in Grey Rose and the door is locked.

Then it would send a message to the GMs and, provided one was online, they would come and help you.

If you post your character name here it would help too, because then they'd know which char to move .

character's name is Bob Uhm, I created a 2nd character and I realized that I didn't choose the best way to start off...its impossible to be a craftsman you can't buy the things you need from the 2 merchants that work

I moved the character to Trollsbane. As AlexRose said, the !gm command will send a message directly to someone who can help you out in those situations

Well, all the traders in TB will soon start trading again. Your trader arrived at a bad time, as the TB traders have closed as a protest to a war. It would be smarter of your char to post an order on the trade part of the forums than to buy from the npcs though. Its likely that some pc sells what youre looking for;)
