in regards to town militia post  i think there should be a semi-democratic government in illarion based around medievil principles also a federalist government (the GMs and Gods)
first off there should be a courthouse and goutine made for thses reasons among others
1) A vote is put in for the new leader ( has o be a leader of a guild for obvious reasons)
2) that leader has control over military and currency in town
3) Oppoing the leader results in a bounty and death
4) AN ARENA! FOR FIGHTS TO THE DEATH!
5) The leader has the abilities to build housing for the peasents he deems fit (he who has the mula gets a house)
6) At the end of term the leader calls for a re election or is kicked out of office

We already have such a post, an old one. There are many ideas and some thoughts put together.
Search it and read it (and revive it).

Yes, that would need a person with a good reputation ingame.

I agree player-led BUT the leader would not have full power if he abused his power he would be leader no longer.

I would think that a vote for mayor or whatever would be good but perhaps to make sure no one hires someone to vote for them OOC: an alt or something UNOOC: we should only allow people of good reputation to vote????

well stated gylyn that is much a good idea i think that shall be implemented in game as well seeing as ppl can hire much others to vote if only the good ppl vote then there is more of  a fair chance
