Elfensprache / Elven language

*
Just a short note so that there isn't any sudden suprise:
The skill '
elven language' has been removed from any character that isn't elvish and got it from the bard starting package.
There were about 422 chars who had an elven language skill of 100%
And merely in one month the number of chars who were active, not elvish, not pushed and that were no questchars was: 46
That's a little bit too much.

The elven language skill has also been removed from the bard starting package.

It was very common, all could understand elves, yet elves couldn't understand human. There are a number of ways to RP the change... perhaps the elven dialect just slightly changed enough it is no longer understandable?

The sibanic filled lifestyle finally caught up with him and Zeph simply forgot an entire language?

I mean this with all due respect, but I second that.
Players like Fooser and I from back in the day remember a time when we were given a lot of freedom to speak at Illarion. The lesson we should have learned with the yellow/red dot fiasco is that the harder you pull the reigns the louder the dogs will bark.

Ja endlich ist das weg, war unfair den Elfenspielern gegenüber.
Andere Sprachen musste man lernen und Elbisch gabs zum Start.

Every slightly unserious post is edited, but if you look, posts made by other people in the newbie forum using leet speak are left untouched. What I said wasnt really that bad, I would think acting like a bunch of snobby morons in the new players forum would be a bit more troublesome. Real objective guys.

Frankly, after what I heard from Martin about what the staff was saying when he ended the yellow/red dot fiasco, I'm a bit ashamed that I ever was involved with the staff of this game. You look at us as a bunch of uncontrollable rioters that need to be crushed.
Somewhere along the line you forgot that you're just one of us. We're all here part of the same community. The difference between you and the rest is that you volunteered to do a little more. You weren't asked to be our martyrs.

Please people. Don't even think of turning this into another off topic flame war. This is about the removal of the Elven language from non-elven characters. Not the current staff, yellow/red dots, or Foosers blunder with the Arien (though it did make me chuckle).

@Fooser:
I don't know what you wrote, so i can't say something certin. I only can assume that that what you call "unserious" was not clearly for everyone unserious. At least Arien didn't identify it as unserious. You exspected what you write as unserious but in that matter Arien read it but didn't got the hint that it was meant unserious.
Maybe a

or a j/k would prevent this edit. As i said, i'm just assuming.
About the leet posts in the
newbie board. I don't see the big damage from those posts. Its as the name said the
newbie board. You should not exspect all the best in that board. And there the "morons" are only the new players that have to learn. But we all started at any point, didn't we?
@Aegohl:
I'm disappointed from the way you speak after all from the Illarion staff. The "red/yellow" dot action was no fiasco. It was a test. Everyone who took part in learned from it. The staff as well as the players.
You see everything we do as actions to torture the players. But lets take the matter of the dots. In the time before that "test" some players as well as staff members complained that the tone on the forum wents out of order. So we tried to give a some moderators some more power over the off-topic board in special. Trying to get the tone into order again. The responce of the community was clear i think.

So it got disabled and right after the tone got much better. So i can't see what was "bad" at the dots all in all
About the second part you wrote. I can say that we all know that we are a part of that community. But you should not forget that this community is still about a game. And we try to keep it working. That is the difference and this that difference we have to act in a slightly different way.
I wouldn't like to see some flaming so much without some staff members stopping them that everyone else leaves. And to be honest i dare this from some members of our community.

I always wondered, is PO Arien a man or a woman? The pic I found is quite misleading.

Thank you Thorvald for bothering yourself to give us a notice about the elven language.

LMFAO! @ Michael
Oh and I love how Nitram, and part of the staff (most of it) neglects their mistakes, refuse to admit they did ones, then chew on them and pit them out in a shape that clutters one to think they're wise decisions.

Why the hell do you think the staff must justify themself?!

@Fooser: Of course you are not compensated, since you are one of the few chars who gained the elven language skill not through the bard starting package; so you are not losing it anyway
And I would be thankful if someone closes the topic, since it gets a little bit out of hand and there is nothing to add anymore.

@ Fooser
Your post was neither unserious nor attacking someone. But it was out of topic that was thought for information.
And because the thread is going out of it's sense I'm closing it now.
