Currently if you have a bard, with a high intelligence, he gets elvish language as a bonus.
I suggest bonus languages given on basis of intelligence (similar to d20).
10-14 = 1 point
14=17 = 2 points
18 = 3 points
(I'm assuming 18 is the maximum amount of intelligence possible, I'm not sure).
From these points, you can 'buy' a language (in the creation screen), and get a good knowledge of it [not perfect, but practicable]
Orcish/Goblin : 1 point
Human/Dwarvish/Halfling: 2 points
Fairy/Elvish: 3 points
Lizard: Impossible
(Sorry if i forgot something).
The point system reflects the fact that some languages are easier to learn then others.
So an 18 point intelligence could choose elvish; or human and orcish... for example.
Lizard is impossible to learn because its designed for creatures with a different tongue/face structure, and I deem it impossible for non-lizards to learn.
