Troubles with Java

Hello,

I've been trying to download java from different sources, and keep failing. (Error messages, and other troubleshootings.) I suspect my poor connection to be responsible for that, but I'm not sure.
Anyhow, if someone could tell me whether the offline installer on this link is good, works perfectly and allows me to play Illarion or not, I'd be thankful;

If not, does the online one work? If that also is corrupted, any other sources?

Edit:
I downloaded the offline installer from java.com/en/download/manual.jsp, and when I run the file, I get this error: "jre-6u1-windows-i586-p-s.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

So I tried downloading it from java.com, and I get this error: "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package"

Any help?
I'll try to download the online installer from the link above now, but don't have much hopes.. =/

Well, I managed to fix it.
If someone's having the same problem, a little clue could be your connection that downloads the file in a corrupted way. Try another browser. Firefox wouldn't work with me, but the offline installer downloaded with IE worked.

Anyhow, another hint is not to give up :P
