Illness

Achae covers her mouth to cough having just been in the city for a few minutes and apparently has also come down with the sickness. Taking pen and parchment, she places a copy of a parchment on all the gates leading to the city, and sends one to each town in Gobiath.
This is a warning to all travelers... there appears to be an illness easy to catch with symptoms of cough and sneezing. As far as I know, it is in Trolls Bane only, but I am not sure of the other towns. I would advise everyone to be cautious and not to get too close to others with the illness for now.

The illness started in Greensbriar, brought to there by sick sailors. From there peoples like the dwarf Garon Goldhand brought it to trollsbane and maybe even other towns. Even so they knew that they have an infectious sickness they left Greensbriar and went to other places.
We need urgently the help and support of the druids. A cure has to be found, and that soon. If most of the isle becomes sick before the Lich comes back it may mean agreat dangerfor us all.

I will be in the library trying to find a cure for this illness. If anyone finds any information they deem important, please send it to me by dove.

A young messenger, who appears to be fortunate enough not have been infected yet, delivers a note to each town, reading all the same:
People of Gobiath,
up here in Varshikar, we are held also in the clench of that
mysterious sickness, myself, Pellandria and Connor being the
victims thus far.
An especially severe case appears to have haunted my friend
Enwell, whom I last spotted being carried away by Anfala and
Saril. He was unconscious and seemingly spewed blood as well,
which was spattered all across a table in the midst of our
market place.
After I wiped off that stain, Pellandria assisted me in burning
the piece of cloth I used, the bucket, my gloves and at last,
even the table itself, bearing the hope that those grim spirits
to cause that mischiev might perish within the flames - but our
hope was in vain, for we also showed the known signs shortly
after.
Even the skilled hands of Connor were unable to bring us healing,
thus the only option left is to warn you to stay clear of Varshikar,
until a cure is being found.
And please: Do not abandon us.
Sincerely,
~Gryphius Messerzunge~

Hrm... I somehow caught the illness just by being in tavern. Regardless, seems many a person has it now; and we can't find a cure, try as we may.
However, I don't see the problem. I'm sure we've all had a cold before. Sure, it happened rather quickly this time, but still: IT'S ONLY A COLD. This is NOT the end of the world, and I don't see why an occasional sneeze bothers you people so much.
Colds come, colds go. I'm sure you've had hundreds before and you'll have hundreds in the future. I don't see why everyone is making such a fuss to be honest. There's a lich on the loose, but no, everyone is frightened of the cold.
Yours Coughingly,

The illness is in Silverbrand as well.
Nearly all citizens have it
So the illness is in all towns now?

At least the half of the inhabitants of the Grey Refuge are victims of this coldness too. I hope we can find any medicine against it. It becomes annoying, sneezing everywhere..

Perhaps a little fire and a good wine can help?
I see many persons going throgh the coldly night and then its no wonder, that all we are sick.

The answer is beer round a campfire, having cured myself TWICE now.

I have tried without beer, the fire works alone. It is simply the warmth of the campfire that cures.

Well it worked for me until people sneezed and coughed on me. Maybe you walked in an area where someone had recently coughed.

I wonder how contagious it actually is, in other words do you have to see another person to catch it? If so, the fire alone didn't seem to help for long.

If someone coughs or sneezes near you or you walk where someone has recently coughed or sneezed, you will catch the illness. That's why I wish for EVERYONE to cure themselves at once, so we won't have the problem any longer, rather than having to cure myself every 10 minutes because I come into contact with other people.

It alarms me to see people walking by without a care, not wanting to cure themselves, as if they wish to spread the disease for as long as they can. They know its contagious, and they know the cure, why ignore, why be ill? Why let others continue to catch it?
Relax next to a fire, your work can wait.

Thank you Tann, what a great suggestion. A lich and his Army are about to march on Gobiath, why dont we just sit around a campfire, and sing songs? A cold is not the end of the world.

That is another point, would it not be more sensible to fight when not covering your helmet in mucous, and struggling for breath?
