Monster drop related problems

In case you notice new bugs or inbalances related to the monster drops ("l00t") since the update, feel free to drop a note.

Currently, I am working on an update of the monster drops. Originally, I planned that this update is ready before the new crafting system, but I was rather surprised that the update came that fast.

Possible bugs: Drop of unfinished items, drop of non existing items (question marks), drop of totally unfitting items, no drop at all,...

Please keep your posts as precise as possible, general remarks ("Monsters should drop more swords") cannot be scripted ;-)

Mummies drop:

Ornate Dagger (6%)
Horned Helmet (22%)
Horned Helmet (15%)
Wooden Shield (18%)

O_o 6%? How the heck did you get that? Killed 50 mummies and 3 dropped ornate daggers?

Mummies drop unfinished items, noted.

[I already knew that ;-)]

-_-

Could you make a list of those that you already know about maybe?

That was the only thing I knew for sure. All other monsters should(!) not drop unfinished items.

The mummy issue will be fixed, of course. But it might take some time since the devs have to fix many more important bugs.

Dropping of unfinished Items is fixed.

Could you fix the thing, that a smith who had 5 swirlies at all can easily own a uber-carpenter, too?

That has nothing to do with monster drops. Please post into an appropiate thread or create a new one.

I'd suggest also to include a proposal how to "fix" this, since it is an inbalance, not a bug.

I posted my problem with that carpentry-thing about 8 times in diefferent threads now, but no one ever answered.

How about we go and do some research? ;)

Ogres drop metal shields quite often... don't know if that is deliberate

I don't think this is the right post but anyway:

When starting a new character, some items are unfinished, like 0%.

Choosing the paladin starting set will give you:

10 apples (0%)
5 bread (0%)

I will have a look at this, even though I doubt this is something new - worth changing, though. I am merely asking for new problems.

@"abcfantasy": Jepp, wrong topic. I recommend to flyspray that.

was in the graveyard crypt and near the temple bit on the ground floor items started randomly appearing at one point, without killing anything this started happening, didnt happen much but thought you should know. No big deal really.

Can you name what appeared? What kind of items?

From another topic: "Mummies drop diamonds frequently while a miner has to work hard for them" -> already considered.

Well, I think that the red necromancer skeleton drops should remain the same as before ;)

I don't think so, since the drop of magical weapons was ONE reason why we got a new system and especially a wipe.

I do, because its behind two red melee skeletons.

So what's the point of being a fighter then? People train for the day that they'll finally be able to take a red warrior skeleton so they can get the necromancer; what'd be the point if they got there and it dropped crap all? And how many warriors do you know who can kill a red skeleton? When mages kill them, they don't item drop.

Most warriors with a mage friend?

How many warriors have a mage friend? And if mages kill them they don't drop items, and the warriors get no skill.

If mages kill them, they don't drop items? O_o

But anyway, healing is enough, and can lead to both item drops and for skill.

Indeed.
abcfantasy wrote:But anyway, healing is enough, and can lead to both item drops and for skill.
Okay, so you need about 2 cakes starting with full hunger and mana for the mage and 15 minutes spare time with good weapons, armour and skill for the fighter per red skeleton.

by abcfantasy
Who says 15 mins?

And mages can still damage the skel first, but not kill him. It will still drop items.

Anyway, as I have observed, there were 'many' who hunted and killed red skeletons, so their stuff were being common.

And you don't need a filled hungerbar for that. The mage can easily cast ORL KAH when the huger bar gets low. Also, you won't need full mana, when you have good skills in pervestigatio. You will be able to perma-cast MES PEN then, without losing mana.

Orl kah is useless. to heal the lost mana the mage needs even more of the food bar then the spell filled. he needs at least orl kah qwan :P
