still thing theres something wrong.
most of the things that no-one would expect to sell or to find customers for are expensive..
but those items like arrows a way to cheap. arrows should be sold for at least 1.5 gold per arrow and bolts for at least 2gp each. and as the price for arrows is to be highered by 0,5 the price of wind arrows should also be raised by 0,5.
its really making-you-go-nuts- work to make those bolts and arrows..
but i dont want to start this nonsense again.. i sell my stuff for that price and people buy. so what does that tell you?

True, it is not really functional in all ways but I think it's still better than nothing

to Newbies, the prices may seem a bit steep, but trust me you get there fast.

The economy is trully messed up...
lately, all the Newbies, even those who have just been in the game for a few hours, nearly all have plate mails and Knightshields...

they happened to stumble across some well meaning (usually Halfling) individual, who took pitty on them and equipped them for free...

nowadays, if ye try to sell a chain mail, people WILL boo you... everyone wants plate, and if ye ask for more than 50 gold pieces, they run off horrorstruck, and then find someone else.

Now, with this current situation, no one uses any of the many armours and weapons in the game... everyone has fireswords, even though there are many other weapons to choose from...

I know no one in this game who has ever even owned a shortsword.

This appears to me as an insult to the game makers... they have toiled to create great variety in items, and give one a goal - to get money. To actually WORK for something.
But now, everyone is rich, no one needs anything, and the different craftsmen have no one to sell their goods to.

If we incorporated a more or less fix price structure, I am sure this game would be even greater than it is now...

for example, ye could lower yer prices a bit, so to outbid a competitor, but going as far as to give the best items away for free is just messed up

well
thats what I think anyway

some post already braught up a idea that your stength determins what weapons and shield you may weild.

Im thinking also in the future, you may have something like this,

as already, some items are hard to make, what if some items say plates took more than 1 ore? each try takes ... 3 iron and coal ect.....

just a idea, any minds in or out upon this?

aye, that is also a necessity.

Whatever happens, we need some structure in the economy though, as it is impossible to be Just a merchant nowadays...

((( stop telling your proposals on the rpg board, go to other boards to tell your ideas)))

  Dear People,

I understandss why you are concerned about newer ariivers to this land getting  full armor. These are my thought on this . I think that some new arrivers should be given some things, but nothing more then the second to worst things. When I was a new arriver, I had to work my way up, I had no one to help me through, and now I am one of the richest and most powerful lizards in the land. So what does that tell you people who are getting your stuff for free and not working? Thinkss about it.

                                                  Fare the well,
                                                            Blackscales

#me looks at the prices Mishrack has posted concerning the SMACC price.
I never knew rings were worth so much!  I would have gone into the goldsmithing trade sooner.  Well well, I better get working, for where there is gold, there is a man just as eager as me to get at it..

'Tis only a rough draft, and needs tweaking.

As for the rings, gold is reasonably rare, so goldsmithing is hard to master...
thus rings hard to make
thus price high
thus me gets rich :D

Me# looks at the papers..
haha, Who would pay that much for armor? Really now, lets think this through. I sell for much cheaper prices and make more money then you. Your little group has one thing yet to learn. Between businesses there will allways be a war of sorts, normaly between their prices. If you expect to sell alot you may want to lower your prices.

Turin, one day ye may, Irmorom willing, understand that to some people, quality is more important than the price...

I do in fact make a lot of money, though I agree with ye that those prices are a bit rough.

get yourself a good set of customers, and ye can charge nearly whatever ye want.

now, if ye were a clever one, ye would see that if we agree on a set of prices, and ensure that most people follow those prices, we will each make a lot more money...

the only thing your idea of low prices does, is to force other merchants to lower their prices too, and thus we have a vicious circle...

think about it

Sssure now you will make more money at these lower pricess but think of the long run ssss what happens in a few yearsss time or even monthsss when you continue to sssell thingss at low non-regulated pricess? Pricess will continue falling and the market will be flooded with all these cheap productssss ssso that no one will need anything and all merchantsss will be out of a job. Ssssuper think the cussstomerss but thiss is bad newsss for you too because if people sell thingsss at such low pricess it meansss they're cutting cornersss and are therefore giving you shoddy worksmanship sss and finally when the market iss totally ssaturated no one will ssmith anymore and then when you need new armor or new arrivalss need new equipment no-one will be there to replace and make new armour ssss.
Please think of the long term all you merchantsss out there, if you do follow a regulated price lisst agreed on by a mojority you will avoid all those problems allready outlined and furthermore you'll make more money ssince you will never have to lower your ratess and no-one will underbid you taking your cusstomerss away. Pleasse seriously conssider all of thiss it iss very important to those of usss who do not take livesss for a living ssss.

I have noticed that they are only prices of things you make what about the prices of things you can find like wood, ore and iron to name a few.

As you know people do give out jobs but i never know the actual price for the things I want. I am not to sure if wood costs 2 gold or up to 5 gold or if ash costs 0.5 gold or if wool costs 1 gold.

I am also not sure if many other people know this either so if you can could you tell us what the prices are for things you can find?

Resources were included in the original smacc list although I can't remember where to find one off the top of my head. But it's not really important that you know them. Demand and availability change, and prices will change according like, and depending on who you deal with. You might pay some amount for something, but I might pay more if I want it.
