Tools break???

Wow!
I never would have believed it if it hadn't happened to me. I've been playing 'Crafting' Characters for more than a RL year, and this is the first time I ever had a tool (cooking spoon) actually break while I was using it.
I didn't know craft tools degrade through use!
Has anyone else experienced this yet?
I know the 'new crafting system isn't implemented yet, but you learn something new about this game all the time it seems. It was kinda cool.
Just throwing it out there for comment and FYI.

Yep. Had a pick break on me about two minutes in, and the nearest depot was a 5-minute walk one-way.
One must beg the question... I *know* how my char broke her pick (hitting it against a rock for a long time). How the heck did you break a spoon?!?

dusty,
i suppose, that you did not break tools playing dusty, because you allways had got good tools.
me, i am using, what i get. so a broken spoon is something normal, after about three or fourhundred saucages.
my chars break everything.
being poor, "we" use every kind of junk, we can lay the hands on.

I think , since its a WOODEn cooking spoon, after a lot of temperature differences, the wood warps (expands/contracts) and damages it...

Is there a message when a tool is broken (like when you lost your fishing rod)? I prefer one.
I remember that quality loss of armors and weapons was deactivated for some time, maybe that also happened with tool.s

last time i got a message, that my spoon was nearly used up. next saucage, it dissapeared from the hand, and i got a message, that it was broken.

Yeah, I would imagine it's the same as the armor, or a fishing rod, or bucket.
