Unfair Lag at Cross

Tonight it happened again, the second time I have seen this.

A red skeleton came into town and we tried to fight it. As people became clouded and some ran, we went to the cross. If a warrior stepped out or one came up from behind totally unawares, the Lag was so severe that all you could do was get one swing in, as the skeleton (Who wasn't lagging at all btw), clouded you.

I think this is very unfair and creates a definite problem during combat. Kurga, Taliss, Ganon and Julia lost everything as we watched our stuff rot in the time it took to move the 4 fields to the cross, The Lag was extreme!!!!

Please, please fix this!!!!

PS, can we get our skills and stuff back please????

No, absolutely not, NEVER. That is the rule of thumb.

The problem was the Graphics, I believe. Those flashy ass lights are unnesciary. Just the bubbles and the impact flash would be all that is needed.

Indeed under normal circumstances all of us if not one or two of us could have defeated the creature. Its horrible to think that for some strange reason we failed because we could not attack but once every 2 minutes while it was never slowed down.

I know this problem. Happend to me too.

Who made it comming there?
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:As people became clouded and some ran, we went to the cross.
As usual if you fight a mean red sklly. Its no flower orc.
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:If a warrior stepped out or one came up from behind totally unawares,
Bad luck...
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:the Lag was so severe that all you could do was get one swing in,
Wrong. The only thing that is lagging is the information transfer from the server to the client. After you started the fight is runs IN the server. Lag does not effect this. Only the lag while transfering the informations back can be pretty slowly ( HP informations, attacking animations )
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:as the skeleton (Who wasn't lagging at all btw),
Monsters never have lag. They are in the server. If you play in the computer the server is running on, you won't have lag too.
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:clouded you.
Back Luck.
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:I think this is very unfair and creates a definite problem during combat.
Lag does not effect it. If you are not able to beat such a skeleton you are never able. With or without lag. Thats unimportaint.
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:Kurga, Taliss, Ganon and Julia lost everything as we watched our stuff rot in the time it took to move the 4 fields to the cross,
Did you call a gm?
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:The Lag was extreme!!!!
If you have 5 Minutes Lag. Then its extrem. Everything below... *shrugs*

In work.

We did call a GM, but none were available that time of night ((6am GMT)), a common occurance for the American players.

As far as killing it, Kurga can kill red skeletons by herself. The fact that this one didn't die, despite three of us attacking it, is a mystery, for I had already killed several by myself.

Do the red skeletons have different stats? Why was this one so difficult? Or are they supposed to be close to each other such as the mummies, skeletons or even trolls?

The lag was extreme, btw and was totally unfair.

Thanks.

Kurga can kill red skels by herself??

What, red skeleton summoners or normal ones and taking manyyy potions?

I mean...she hasn't been on for..a month

But yes, all monsters differ in stats as far as I know.
And everyone experienced death by lag! Don't worry, it's not just you. People have lost their best stuff and all, it happened to all.

And remember, there's still the nice rp part of the game, so you shouldn't be disturbed too much if you lose skills/items

For sure only the VERY VERY weak ones. Everything aboth is not killable by a single character.

May it was a strong one?

Yes.

May it was stronger. Plain and simple.
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:Or are they supposed to be close to each other such as the mummies, skeletons or even trolls?
Red skeletons have a rather huge range.
Kurga Wolfbane wrote:The lag was extreme, btw and was totally unfair.
Lag is never nice. Btut we try to solve it as good as possible.

Kurga; no offence, but please relax. You are brand new to this game, and already you can kill red skeletons. This speaks of incredible powerplaying. This game is not suposed to be fair. If you want a game where you can train all day, play WoW. Again: No offence:).
This is kind of like when you got mad because somone had a house somwhere in the woods. This did not interfere with your rp at all, nevertheless you started dicussing it, and it turned out you had no idea what you talked about. You cant have everything by training and taking stuff with force. Do not discuss everything at once, when you are this new. If a noob acts like she owns the game, people will get mad at her. believe me, I speak with experience.
Enjoy the game:)

No Offence Cuthalion, but you shouldn't believe that just because a forum account is a month old, doesn't mean that the character is also?

I am not new to this game, Kurga is only my latest addiction. As a Player, I have been here for more than a RL year now.

As A Character, especially an Orc, what else is she going to do but fight?
Whoever has heard of an Orc Bard, or Tailor? C'mon, who's the noob here? It isn't powergaming, it's just what she does. She fights, she collects treasures, she sleeps, poops, eats.......She is an ORC!

She has traveled places my previous characters never could, with all their challenges and threats. I have never solved the 'Irundar' quest until Kurga, when she was 'hired' to escort others on the quest. It was truly fun. She is developing well as a character and I believe is becoming a benefit to the game already. Everybody's so 'fuzzy-fuzzy', it's good to see the Orcs get back in the spotlight as 'vigilantes' or even 'threats', but not really 'Evil'. True Evil is totally different. Ahh...the days of Nalzaxx! That was Evil.

I believe the Orcs, and especially Kurga has created some interesting RP already, and a little spice to the otherwise boring RP. Like you said, It's all for fun.

Regarding lag and fighting, I realize this has happened to everyone and is expected to happen. However, coupled with the skill loss for time ghosted, wouldn't it be helpful to have the crosses as close as possible to places where fighting will occur ( I know that wasn't the case in this instance, but has been in the past with my chars)?

i thought, the continuous skill-loss is a thing of the past allready.

Why in the Hell does everyone 'have' to walk around greeting everyone they meet? A new Orc in a new land would shy away from Orc hating scum. That's the way I started her. She lived in seclusion for several weeks on Tol Vanima, they got the best pigs. There was never a soul there, very secluded, and I spent weeks there. It may even be deserted? Hmm.

Only when I felt more confident, did I venture out and I met a few warriors, one was Arturius (Now deceased), but basically kept my name to myself to most. I'm sure I'm not the only one. (So many 'hooded' figures). I didn't need to PG, as any fighter knows that spends time in the field. Skills go up fairly quickly if you don't waste time on crafts or RP.

No Offense, but your character hasn't met everyone in the game. So STFU!

Second accounts are easy to train. Some very much want to get some skills up before they engage in RP Commitments.

After all, there is no RP besides pen and paper without technicality.
