You need;

Smelting:
Moulde
Crucible
Crucible-Pincers

Hold the crucible in hand, shift click it and a furnace lit with some coal (Shift click the furnace with coal on belt.)

Shift click the metal you want to melt. Have 1 coal 1 ore or 3 coals 5 gold ores in hand.

Smithing

Very simple.

Hammer

Take hammer in hand, with ingots or plates, and stand in front of an anvil. Shift click hammer and then shift click through categories and shift click an item you want to smith. Weapons and tools require handles, certain armor pieces require random items. Very few can be made with just the metal.

However, you can smith just blades. The items are the 'final production' - you could say.

Gold smithing is slightly different.

Take hammer in hand, shift click a gold bar in your inventory. Or you can shift click Copper, if you're gold smithing that.

Everything in that category is in one big list.

---

Good luck, happy smithing.

Just wondering... is it impossible just to ask a other smith ig what you need? I doubt that anyone would send you away without telling you anything.

Okay, I'mma yell at you. Kthxbi.

People like aid. There's 10 people online right now. about 0 smiths is my guess.

Now, you people are too damn pruned face to look and realise that people do not want to bother running around saying "Scuse me sir, pardon me, do you know how I may begin my smithing career?" a thousand and fucking half times.

It's not fair. Not fair at all.

This is a NEWBIE board for NEWBIE questions. How to smith is a NEWBIE question, and thusly belongs here.

Hell, if there were some comprehensive guides around the place that tell you NEWBIE things, there might be less NEWBIE questions. But there aren't.

I will answer everything I can for anyone. Want to forum ban me for giving out advice? Go for it, I'm open for a kick in the ass. If you're too lazy or close minded to help people that are politely asking for help, just block this NEWBIE board from memory.

P.S. - I deserve mod here. Owned. :)

Absolutly bloody wrong. 13 people online. 6 of them smithed at least once. So they know how it works.

I doubt that he tried at least once.

Indeed. Its not fair if you tell some OOC and some others not. It would be fair if ALL have to find it out ingame.

Its a newbie question that can be solved IG easily. Why don't do it IG? Because everyone tells you those things in the newbie board. So there is no need to try it IG.

How often is it needed to tell you that a newbie island is in work. that takes time. Don't you understand this?!

I give it up trying to change your mind. Thats just impossible. I'm tired of it and doubt that will really change. All moan that the roleplay goes down the hill. Does this here support that the roleplay stays good? I doubt. Because it makes the roleplay unneeded for the newbies if they can learn everything ooc.

That would be the biggest misstake ever :P

Some things are just needed to be explained OOC.

It's not like telling him what the exact stats of armor or the effects of rings or anything like that; it's merely explaining to him the necessary basics of this game. A lot of people try smithing at one point. It's about as basic as crafting gets.

And yeah, just because I r teh winrar doesn't mean you need to hide and not give me any mod powers - It's alright to admit defeat. 'Show a nicka some love.'

Some need to be explained. Others need not.
If they ask how to walk, whisper or attack something its needed. No doubts.

You would tell them if you knew them. Luckily you don't.

As i said. Thats easy to find out ingame. Noone would refuse to tell it.

Sadly i don't understand what you want to tell us with that.

Psh, what's it to you? I'm actually a little surprised at what you said over MSN. Here I thought, all this time, you considered me "Slightly Bearable", but you've hated me since the day I was Byron? Tisk, tisk, Tisk.

Oh well, pancakes.
