Hello!
Does anyone know where I could find a mentor who could teach me the arts of magic?

A name got added to the note: Pom Tingle Rumpy Tengle

Perhaps it would help if you wrote your name under your partchment so the teachers could contact you.

Though I doubt one with such intelligence acquires the requirements fit for a handler of the arcane arts, gnome mages are not quite common.

HaHaHa!
I have etched my name for you to see.

Though I don't see the humour in the post, I never said that anyone had to know my identidy, for it was not neccesary. I suggested that if he wanted help he should write his name down.

And, it's extremely funny, as the man who laughed didn't write his name either. What a bunch of hyprocrites..

Please, let me in on your methods. How could you guess my age from a few drops of ink on a parchment?

I am sorry, I did not sign at first.
But my name is Pom Tingle Rumpy Tengle and I do think I have what it takes to learn arcane arts.

Alright, I shell try again.
Hello noble people of these lands,
My name is Pom Tingle Rumpy Tengle and I came here to find an individual capable of teaching me the arts of magic, consequently becoming my mentor. I am a patient gnome. I am ready to do what is needed in order to learn.
Thank you.

Try applying to a teacher, Pom. Check the academy board for available teachers.

Just because you didn't manage to get a teacher doesn't mean everyone won't.

Oh, on the contrary; I doubt anymore will secure teachers who find the isle after this parchment, including the gnome here. You might just have to wait a little.

My advise. Simply keep your eyes open. An opportunity will come along eventually, be it in a month or in my case, 5 years.

I am patient. I can wait as long as it takes.

Well that's the best attitude to take; I'm sure you'd make a formidable mage.

look ye of little intelligence! He simply and politely asked, and if yer just going to be a complete oaf and insult the lad why bother adding yer smelly ink to the parchment...

It was merely my opinion, as well as my personality to give critical remarks. it takes years to even try and cast a simple illusion spell; though if he believes he can stand up to standards, then so be it. There is nothing that I can do, or have the right to stop him, I bid you good luck, gnome. If you would like to further argue with me, please see me directly and let us not dirty up this partchment, shall we?

I mean, I helped him didn't I? That is quite rare.
