Suggestion: Multiple-Producing for crafting

Current System:
A wants to create 50 leather shoes. A has 50 thread and 50 leather.
SHIFT Click on Leather
Click on Shoe in Menu
Click on Shoes Again
-
REPEAT for 50 times
===
This gets boring, it gets frustrating, and its also good excercise for the hand, since the leather will be in the bottom corner, and the menu furthur up
----
My suggestion
Suggestion #1:
Allow people to produce multiples of goods, to a maximum of 10 each tyme (To prevent a person powergaming it)
Everything else stays the same, basically all you do is add 3 lines to the code
REPEAT variable: 1 to Inputted
[crafting thing]
IF Outofresources then Variable: Inputted.
===
Suggestion #2:
At least after its produced, the menu remains open, in that 'page' that you were.
So you click once instead of 3 times
===END ===

If all products shall be produced within a second, yes. If you want to make this time depending, no. This would be possible with the new time depending effects, however, Nitram is planning a bit different.
There will be some sort of "automated working", but what I read so far sounds a bit different. Maybe Nitram wants to spread a small teaser what he's doing?

Isn't the time already implemented in the production code?
You'd pass it X times... so, its already time dependant.

Glad Nitz is working on summat though

You are mixing something up. Inside a script, one can only subtract actionpoints after "everything is done". But scripts can be invoked in a schedule / time table, that is what I called time depending effects. This is much more than adding three lines to the existing code.
AFAIK Nitram will use these time depending effects for crafting, however, in a slightly different way, at least when it comes to crafting. For ressource gathering, something similar is planned, but I have no deeper insight in this.

You can make multiples of some items in the current system, i always assumed this was meant to be, and not a bug.
For instacne tailoring, you can click three or four times on the shoes before the menu disappears and get 3 or 4 shoes. The same is true for sawing boards, glassblowing, cooking and alchemy.

What Skaalib tells us is a bug that will be solved in the upcomming system.
Well... You still CAN do it then... it wouldn't be that good for you

you are already pissing about tailoring, ever tried to bake something, thats the worst craftsystem ever, you need grain, then you have to just use the millstone to get flour, now the bad thing comes, you need to have the bucket in your hands and fill it with water and then use the flour with the water to get dough, but you can only make one dough per waterbucket, that means you have to click 5 times to just get one dough (1 click on millstone, bucket+well/river,flour+bucket) and if you palnt the grain, then you need even more clicks, sorry but bitching about tailoring is very funny, because its one of the easiest way to create something.

Flailing, milling, and dough mixing is automated in the new system Bologna.

Actually flailing is already.

I used to have a cook character, poor kids...
I had made around 150 bread, and never levelled up

I am glad to see we are all still really worried about leveling up faster and creating rediculous amounts of goods in extremly small perionds of time.

You know it sista!
On another note, Hadrian, this is a completely tactless proposal to help you powergame. Cmon now, at least other powergamers have the decency not to complain, and use their brain to maximize efficiency like chinese babies in a sweat shop (Ark inspired similie).

And by exploiting bugs like the one I mentioned

If my character wants to produce a lot of shoes so he can make money, or your character wants to saw 100 boards of wood... you'll find that 3 clicks are irritating....

It only takes about 40 seconds to saw 100 logs anyway, and logs sawing will also be automated.

The current system is kind of tiring for your hand and really annoying if you have a bad mouse. I propose that we do this but add a timer function into the cod so it waits like 3 or 5 seconds between each item creation attempt so that it still takes the same amount of time but requires less clicking. That would prevent the powergaming AND getting wrist surgery from all the clicking.

yes, good idea.

yes, i agree, through crafting I have managed to bugger two mouses. The only problem would be people leaving it, and going to the toilet or something whilst crafting

That would be a problem, and even if you were there, the way the client is right now I believe you would need to finish all the item attempts before you could talk. So maybe if a notice saying "'Player' is busy crafting this item" or if there was an interrupt if somebody said your name. Or if you were required to press a certain button before each item was made, reducing the clicking, but still requiring player input.

Almost anything interrupts the automation employed Jori, even moving a item in your inventory.

Really? Not last time I tried it. Of course last time I tried crafting was about a year and a half ago... I've been going more with the fighter kind of career. But basically what I'm trying to say is thatoverall, this is a good idea. Yes, there are complications, but there are also ways around them if you just think. People can't leave if user input is required to some degree such as just pressing one button. One button along with a minimum waiting time between making each item would solve the problems of both people leaving while crafting and powergaming.

Great. I just realised that now I can fill only one bucket at a time instead of all stacked ones... This makes cooking way too annoying. I hope this will be simplified soon.
