You want RPG, you want live action.

With this Server thing you destroyed all.
RPG played out, friends made and battels lost.

Some one dumb enough to want to die and attack an experienced Warrior three times now has the chance to pretend nothing happened.... Especially as he tried to "log" just as he was dying. He has his armor and weapons back and does not have to suffer the consiquence.
Yesterday, there was a fight near the Tavern and the Server crashed. Those people are now in Jail. The RPG was continued -PostCrash- But the events of today are apalling.

Crashes happen, fine! But resetting the server to a past time is not RPG!

Think about it.

Imagine those who were surprised by a theif. Their Numbers are now known. The Theif has lost his/her loot and his most important tool "surprise".

Those playing an evil char... are now known, those playing good are found out.

RESET SUC_S !

We really do not need such rubish clouding up the forum. Maybe we need a complain thread. If nothing else it would be fun to read and not block up our other threads.

complaint thread...... super idea........ and it might even help...just need to find a safe suit of asbestos for the moderator. (winks)

Theives should log out more regularly to save their char information then I guess.

But, isnt it that way, the more people log, the less stable the server... ?

Thought that was with a freeze, I don't know about anyone else but I have had no choice about logging, I've been kicked off quite a bit and sometimes nothing is saved in the log either.

I'm thinkin of donatin a server to the makers of Illarion if I can get a good one.

Its not the serv its the software.

please mind your manners and your words. The staff of Illarion provides an enviroment for roleplaying for FREE and they are doing a damn fine job for that. Take a look at some commercial MMORPG and you'll see that they are not better in regards to bugs and annoyances.
The update has been announced early enough for everyone to notice and to take into consideration that there might be some problems for some time now. It is up to you to play or to wait until the game has reached a stable stage again. But I guess that the staff prefers us playing to find all the bugs quickly.

Server crashed while he was in some sort of RP. Reset his char to before taht RP happened.

This doesn't help anything. We pointed that out several times already.

The server hardware (the thing you buy in a store) is rather good and does not cause these crashes or freezes. What causes them is the SOFTWARE, which is developed by us (mainly by Cassandra). There's no way to make money do the job.

maybe, for the impatient players it would be of help, if together with the message: "can't connect to server!" would appear a nice choclate-cookie?
